Dear Sir/Ma’am,
Greetings of peace and goodwill!

The Cavite Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (CaJPIA), is a


provincial council that serves to provide a venue for development and
growth of each accounting major students from Cavite. We do this by
carefully planning and executing interschool events that compliments the
current Accountancy curriculum.
In this regard, CaJPIA will be holding its annual Sports Festival which will
be attended by various local chapters of different participating schools
within the province of Cavite. The said Sports Festival aims to provide
opportunities for individual development through various activities, increase
social contacts, growth of lasting friendships and recreation for individuals
regardless of their skill ability. Hence, we are pleased to invite your local
chapter's adviser, president, your assigned coordinator and your local
chapter's players on the said event.
The Annual Provincial Sportsfest will be held at Philippine Christian
University - Cavite (Day 1) and De La Salle University – Dasmariñas
(Day 2) on November 17, 2019 and November 24, 2019 respectively
from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Kindly note that the Registration fee scheme

IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS

General Guidelines and Requirements

1. All players must be a bona fide member of JPIA Federation Year 2019-
2020.
2. Final lists of players with contact numbers must be passed on or before
October 25, 2019 to vpnonacademics@cajpia.com &
president@cajpia.com.
a. Changes on the participants may be sent until November 3,
2019 only.
b. Name your file: (CaJPIASportsFest_NameofSchool)
3. Each player is highly encouraged to only play 1 MAJOR GAME
(Basketball & Volleyball) and 1 MINOR GAME (Table Tennis,
Badminton, Board Games and Palarong Pinoy) (depending on the
game schedule).
4. Each event will have a corresponding point as indicated in the table
below. The local chapter who will garner the highest total points will be
hailed over-all champion.
Scoring System
5. All games/events will happen simultaneously.
6. Player MUST be ready to start 10 minutes prior the start of their game.
(Players must be present at their allocated sports area. There will be a
15-minute default time. The timer starts when the opposing team is
already warming up.)
7. Each Local Chapter must provide a jersey for their players’ especially
in basketball and volleyball. If there is no jersey available, participants
must wear their school PE uniform.
8. We HIGHLY ENCOURAGE players to join only (1) game for their
convenience.
9. All players must bring a hard copy of the following:
- Registration Form for the current semester enrolled with.
- ID with picture (Temporary ID not allowed)
- Medical Certificate
10. Any protest will be handled by a committee; any decisions made by the
committee shall be final and executory.

TEAM EVENTS
I. Basketball (Men)

1. Each team must be composed of a minimum of 8 players and


maximum of 15 players only.
2. The teams will be divided into groups. On each group, there will be
a single round robin.
3. In round robin stage, each game will consist of 2 halves. Each half
is equivalent to 10 mins. The game is running-time play. Only the
last 5 minutes of the game is the non-running time play.
4. The top finisher of each bracket will go into semi- finals.
5. In case of same win-loss record, the following will be the basis (In
Order):
a. Win vs tied participants
b. Points Difference (Accumulated Points)
c. Points Scored (Accumulated Points)
6. In semi-finals up to championship, the game will consist of 4
quarters. Each quarter is equivalent to 8 mins. The first three
quarters will be a running-time play. The last quarter will be a non-
running time play.

II. Volleyball (Men and Women)


1. Each team must be composed of a minimum of 7 players and
maximum of 14 players only.
2. The teams will be divided into groups. On each group, there will be
a single round robin.
3. Each game will be up to 30 points straight only. No advantage. No
deuce.
4. The top finisher of each bracket will go into semi- finals.
5. In case of same win-loss record, the following will be the basis (In
Order):
a. Win vs tied participants
b. Points Difference (Accumulated Points)
c. Points Scored (Accumulated Points)
6. In semi-finals, each game is best of three sets. All sets will be up
to 25 points.
7. Winners in the semi-finals will proceed in the championship game
and the losers in the battle for third game.
8. In the championship, each game is a best of 5 sets. The first four
sets will be up to 25 points while the last set will be up to 15 points
only.

III. Dodge Ball (Mixed)


1. Dodgeball is played by two teams, each made up of 10 players
(MIXED). The purpose of each team is to eliminate opposing team
members. This is done by striking opposing players with thrown
ball (Offense), or catching ball thrown by opposing players
(Defense);
2. Each match will consist of one 5-minute period. Each team will
have one timeout per striking opposing players with thrown ball, or
catching ball thrown by opposing players; match and at the end of
the time; the team with the most players left will be the winner.
3. Toss-coin winner will choose if they are the one who will strike the
ball (Offense) or the one who will catch the ball (Defense).
4. In case the both teams have the same number of players left, it is
Overtime. In overtime, the teams will switch their ways. If they are
on defensive side earlier, in overtime, they will play as the offensive
side, vice versa. The team to first eliminate opposing team member
will win.
5. Officials ruling are final and cannot be protested.
6. A player shall be “out” if they are hit by a live ball from the shoulders
down.
7. All other Dodgeball rules will apply.
8. Matches will be decided using a “Double Elimination” format in
which the team that loses twice will be eliminated. The matches
will be drawn randomly.
9. The championship is a 10-minute period match. It is a do-or-die
game.

IV. Amazing Race


1. Each LC should have a team composed of 12 members.
2. Each team will have to accomplish every given task.
3. The activity will have 5 pit stops.
4. They will gather corresponding points every pit stops. The team
who’ll gather the highest point is the winner.

V. Patintero

1. The object of the game is to block the other LC players from


passing.
2. LC teams shall consist of 10 players.
3. Guarded by the other LC players (opponent), opposing Local
Chapter players should pass through them.
4. Each team will be given 5 minutes to advance on stages.
5. No player shall be allowed to return on previous stages.
6. The final scores for the team will depend on the number of
uncaught players multiplied by the corresponding score the player
is staged in.

VI. TUG OF WAR

1. The game involves usage of single equipment i.e. a rope. There is


a mark made in the middle of the rope. This mark on the rope
needs to be at a perpendicular angle to the exact center point on
the ground before the commencement of the game.
2. A white mark is made exactly 13 feet from the red mark on either
side of the rope.
3. The objective of the game is for each team to pull the rope in an
INDIAN SEAT POSITION along with the members of opposition
team to their side.
4. As soon as the second mark on the rope from the center red mark
crosses over to center line, the team to pull the rope to their area
wins the game.
5. The tug of war competition requires a judge. There are 3 different
commands that the judge gives to the players. The judge first
announces, “Pick up the rope”, he then says, “Take the string”, and
finally he tells the players to “Pull”. Once the pull command is said
out the teams start pulling the rope.
6. If a member of the team will remove his grip from the rope or
accidentally gets out of their line, that member is given a caution.
The team is allowed two cautions before getting disqualified.

Individual/Dual Events

I. Table Tennis
1. There will be a Singles A(Men), Singles B(Women) and Mixed
Doubles Competition.
2. Local Chapters are allowed to enter 4 competitors (2 men and 2
women).
3. This is an individual event competition.
4. Matches will be decided using a “Double Elimination” format in
which the team that loses twice will be eliminated. The matches
will be drawn randomly.
5. Each game will be a straight set of 21 points. No deuce.
6. A coin will be tossed to determine who will serve first.
7. The championship game is a do-or-die game. Each game will be a
best of 3 sets and each set will be up to 15 points. No deuce.

II. Badminton (Doubles Mixed)


1. Local Chapters are allowed to enter 2 competitors (1 team) for the
Mixed Doubles Competition.
2. Each game will be up to straight 21 points only. No deuce.
3. The winner of toss coin will choose to serve or select a court.
4. Matches will be decided using a “Single Elimination” format in
which the team that loses once will be eliminated. The matches will
be drawn randomly.
5. Championship game is best of three sets. 21 points each set. Do-
or-die game.

III. Chess (Men & Women)


1. Each participating local chapter shall have two (2) participants, one
(1) for man and one (1) for woman.
2. The contest is a double elimination system; therefore, a player is
eliminated if he/she loses twice.
3. Playing colors shall be determined by a toss coin.
4. Strictly Touch Move.
5. Each player shall be given 20 minutes playing time for each round.
6. Chess clocks shall be used for every board to determine the time
consumed by each player.
7. Championship game is a do-or-die game.

IV. Scrabble (Men & Women)


1. Each participating local chapter shall have two (2) participants, one
(1) for man and one (1) for woman.
2. Each player shall be given 2 minutes to make a move.
3. There will be one dictionary to be used as reference, provided by the
committee.
4. A player can challenge a word his opponent makes. In challenging
the word, it will be looked up in the dictionary. In case that the word
is not on the dictionary, the opponent will lose one turn and the points
that the invalid word’s worth will be added to the player who
challenged the word. If the word is valid its points will be deducted to
the player who challenged it.
5. Repeating of words is not allowed.
6. In case that a player draws the three tiles of the same letter, the
player will be allowed to replace 1 tile.
7. In case that a player draws seven tiles that are all
consonants/vowels, the player is allowed to return all of the tiles and
replace it by drawing a new set.
8. At the end of the game, the remaining tiles of each players will be
deducted from their scores.

V. Word Factory (Men & Women)


1. Each participating local chapter shall have two (2) participants, one
(1) for man and one (1) for woman.
2. A piece of paper and a writing utensil shall be provided, which is
used to record the words found during the game.
3. Letter cubes will be arranged inside the plastic case, and when
everyone is ready, the case will be shaken so that the cubes are
mixed and settle in a grid.
4. Turn over an hourglass, or start a timer set for 10 minutes.
5. Each player independently searches for words in the grid. To use a
word, its letters must be adjacent to each other in the grid. Each letter
cube may only be used once per word.
6. Only words written on the paper in the allotted time will be counted
for the player.
7. When 10 minutes have passed, all players stop searching for words.
8. If any other players have that word, every player must mark that word
off their lists.
9. Players may challenge the spelling or valid arrangement of each
word. Consult a dictionary to confirm spelling.
10. Misspelled or invalid words are marked off the player's list. The next
player reads, and the process is repeated until every player has
revealed the words found.
11. Player count up the total number of words not disqualified on their
lists. The player with the highest total wins.

VI. Game of the Generals


1. Each local chapter shall have two (2) participants, one (1) for man
and one (1) for woman.
2. The contest is a double elimination system; therefore, a player is
eliminated if he/she loses twice.
3. Pieces are not required to be placed in a definite pattern
4. Players place their pieces according to their strategy
5. Both players are only allowed to place their pieces on the first 3
rows of their side of the board
6. Pieces should face their owners so it can't be seen by the opponent
7. Players decide who goes first then they take turns alternately.
8. In case of a team that has no loss record, they will play for a twice
to beat advantage in the championship game.

VII. Piko
1. Each player has their own individual markers or pucks.
2. You begin with the puck at number one. If your puck is in box 1,
you skip that box and jump to box number two using only one leg.
You can only land with both feet in each box at numbers 4 and 5
and also on numbers 8 and 9. When you reach box ten, you can
pivot so you can skip back down to box number 2, then you pick
up your puck by bending and keeping one leg up and jump out of
the boxes on both feet.
3. Now you throw your puck and make sure it lands on box 2. Start
with one foot in box 1, skip box 2 where your puck is, using the
same leg, land your foot on box 3 and continue up to box 10. Pivot
and go back down, at box 3, bend to pick up your puck on box 2,
since box 2 is empty, you can now jump into it down to box 1 and
out of the boxes.
4. Players take turns throwing their pucks starting at number 1. If you
didn't throw your puck on the correct box, you miss your turn and
will have a chance after all the other players have finished their
turns.
5. The winner of the game will be determined by the number of
“Bahays” obtained.
6. No “Sunog Bahay” shall be allowed.
Mr. and Ms. CAJPIA

1. The contestants must be 2 Representative per LC, one male and


one female.
2. The contestants must not be a participant on other activities/sports.
3. The contestant must be present on the stage rehearsal date.
4. The search for Mr.& Ms. CaJPIA is divided into two (2) categories.

The Elimination Round

 Under this category are the Sportswear, Creative wear, Talent,


Business attire and the People's Choice.
 The points of each candidate will be calculated before the final
round.
 After the calculation, the three (3) candidates of Mr. And Ms. CAJPIA
with the highest accumulated points will move on to the next part of
the competition

Criteria for Judging

The Final Round

 Under this category is the Q and A.


 Each candidate will be given one (1) minute to answer the question.
 After the Q and A, the points of Six (6) candidates (Three (3) males,
three (3) females) will be calculated again.
 The Candidate with the highest points after the calculation will win
the crown for Mr. and Ms. CAJPIA 2019.

 The candidates are expected to wear their chosen


sportswear from the list below.

o Car racing
o Archery
o Baseball
o Cheerleading
o Soccer
o Table Tennis
o Arnis
o Tennis
 The sportswear chosen from the list shown above is
applicable for both partners.
 The candidates must be present on the photoshoot date
posted in CaJPIA page.
 The chosen photo each candidate will be uploaded by the
CaJPIA officers for the Facebook Likes segment.
 They will be judged based on the elimination criteria below.
Criteria for Judging

Tickets Selling

 Each candidate will be given tickets for them to sell. The


highest point will be given to the candidate that would sell the
highest amount of tickets and the corresponding points to be
given to other candidates shall be prorated based on the
highest amount of ticket sales.

The Talent Competition

 Each local chapter is given 4 minutes to show both


candidate’s talent. A corresponding deduction is given for
those who will not comply with the time given. 30 seconds
set-up time and 30 seconds cleanup time are given for each
local chapter and is included in the allotted time of 4 minutes.
 Corresponding Deductions shall be given to those who
would use materials/props that is potentially harmful for the
environment.
 Merits shall be given to those participants following their
respective theme.

The Sportswear
 The candidates are expected to wear the same sportswear
used in the photoshoot.

Criteria for Judging

Creative Wear

 With the theme “MUSIKA”, Candidates must present a


creative wear representing the “genre of music” given to their
respective local chapter.
 Corresponding Deductions shall be given to those who
would use materials/props that is potentially harmful for the
environment

The Business Attire

 The candidates are expected to wear proper and decent


Business Attire.
