Ramain Integrated School

Ramain Integrated School in Lanao del Norte, Philippines conducted an earthquake drill with 210 students and 10 teachers to educate participants on safety procedures before, during, and after an earthquake. The students were instructed to duck under their desks and cover their heads if they heard three rings of the bell simulating an earthquake. They then walked slowly in a line to an open area, still covering their heads. A head count was done and no injuries were reported. The drill aimed to increase awareness of earthquake safety protocols for students, teachers, and the local community.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON Earthquake Drill

On August 06, 2019, Ramain Integrated School conducted the National Simulation on
Earthquake Drill. This was to aware the teacher and the pupils as well as the community on what
to do before, during and after the earthquake, when all the pupils had arrived during the Flag
Ceremony. After the raising of Flag ceremony Ma’am Rahmah Arab announces to the Pupils to
stay for a while on their line for further information for the earthquake drill. She said that if the
pupils hear the bell ringing three times they need to duck on their individual chair and must stay
under the chair, if not they must look for anything that can be used to cover their head, next to
that they must hold tightly and if the earthquake stops they must go to an open area and must
walk slowly and still they are covering their head.
After the orientation the Classroom advisers go to their respective classroom with their
Pupils.
As what have been agreed by the Teachers the Adviser per classroom need to repeat again
the instruction on what to do before, during and after earthquake after that the teacher begun with
her discussion when the pupils heard the bell. They duck under their chair and covered their head
with their hands, the teacher reminds the pupils to look anything to cover their head and if the
earthquake stills continue they must stay on their chair for a while.

And as soon as the earthquake stops the pupils advise to go to an open area or in the
playground, still their hands must covering their head and fall in line while walking.

When the pupils arrived in an open area or in the playground the advisers check his/her
pupils and do the head count after the head count the adviser per grade level check their pupils if
any injured have arisen and Gladly no injured pupils.
