In modern mapping, a topographic map is a type of map characterized by small-scale detail
and quantitative representation of relief, usually using contour lines, but historically using a variety
of methods. Traditional definitions require a topographic map to show both natural and man-made
features. A topographic map is typically published as a map series, made up of two or more map
sheets that combine to form the whole map. A contour line is a line connecting places of equal
elevation.
A topographic map with contour lines
In a group, suggest a new road with the suitable elevation for the area chosen in a
topography map given.
The project will contribute 20% of the coursework and be evaluated according to the following
assessments:
1. Creativity (5%) - Video
       a. Professionalism
       b. Visual design
       c. Content of visual (background/purpose/method/results)
2. Soft Skills (5%) - Video
       a. Strength of materials and organization
       b. Delivery
       c. Awareness of audience
3. Technical skill (10%) - Report
       a. Abstract
       b. Introduction/Background
       c. Methodology + Result
       d. Conclusion + References
The soft skill assessment will be evaluated by producing the video which explain about the
project. The technical skill will be assessed according to the technical report which is clearly
explain about the road proposed.
