Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur (C.G.) School of Studies in Electronics and Photonics

This certificate certifies that Sweta Minj completed a seminar report on organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) under the supervision of Dr. Sanjay Tiwari for a Master's degree. The acknowledgments section thanks Dr. Tiwari and other professors for their guidance and support. The abstract explains that OLEDs were first reported in the 1960s but are now an area of increased research due to their potential for lower power consumption than LEDs and light bulbs. OLEDs operate via a phenomenon called electroluminescence that converts electrical energy into light using certain organic materials.

ABSTRACT

Scientific research in the area of semiconducting organic materials as the active substance in
light emitting diodes (LEDs) has increased immensely during the last four decades. Organic
semiconductor was first reported in the 60s and then the materials where only considered to be
merely a scientific curiosity. (They are named organic because they consist primarily of carbon,
hydrogen and oxygen.)

Common light emitters today, Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and ordinary light bulbs consume
more power than organic diodes do. And the strive to decrease power consumption is always
something of matter. Organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) operate on the principle of
converting electrical energy into light, a phenomenon known as electroluminescence. They
exploit the properties of certain organic materials which emit light when an electric current
passes..
