Global immigration is evident to lead to a serious of socioeconomic challenges as well as

positivism in various countries around the world. The United States is one of the said nations that

immigration has seen a hike in the last decade. Influx of Non-European and Latin American

immigrants to the United States has been faced with huge debate on if the country is able to pick

with the latest trend. According to the article, most are worried of what the future will hold of the

racial and social divisions and challenges that are likely to be part of the process. As compared to

the 19th century, the 20th has increased social and economic gap that has over the year’s increased

social tensions so does to racial discriminations. A good example of such is the Rwanda’s

Genocide that took place in the 90s leading to social and economic problems.

I support the idea of cultural assimilation at the current rate of immigration in the world.

It will help reduce the tensions that are evident and improve not only the economic aspects but

also boost the ability to see through political cohesion. Policies and laws should be created to

make sure that the cohesion is just, but it should not be limited to its ability to raise the standard

in the process. I also agree that less nationalism should be seen to pave way to equality in the

process. In view of the socio heterogeneity, it should be clear that better ways to accord

immigrants’ better social and economic success is mandatory.
