High School Bookface Contest

1. The Bookface contest challenges students to take photos where they replace their face with a book cover from the school library, with part of their face still visible. 2. Photos must be taken inside the school library and emailed to a teacher by November 28th, including the student's full name, grade, and section. 3. Any photos depicting violence, nudity, profanity or lewd gestures will be disqualified. Tips are provided on positioning the book for the best effect. A committee will judge entries on originality and other criteria.

BOOKFACE CONTEST

Bookfacing was originally inspired from the Sleeveface blog (http://www.sleeveface.com) and
developed and shared by Ann-Marie Marchant at the Provo City Library. People take a photo using a
record sleeve (but in our case, a book) to augment or obscure part of their body or face and take a
photo to create the illusion that the illustration and the subject are one.

RULES

1. Replace your face with a book’s cover, then snap a photo.

a. The book must be from the HS Library ;

b. Part of your face must be included in the photo. Photos entries without their faces on it is not
valid ;

c. The photo should be taken inside the HS library.

2. Email your BOOKFACE picture to a.obrero@csa.edu.ph until November 28, 2019. Please include your
full name, grade level and section.

3. Any person featured in an image must provide consent before the picture is taken.

4. Any photographs depicting violence, nudity, profanity, and/or lewd gestures will be automatically
disqualified from this contest.

TIPS & TRICKS:

 If the face of the book cover is the same size as your face, hold the book close. If smaller than
your face, hold the book further away.

 Get friends involved (hold the book, take the picture, or pose with you)

 You can even dress like the photo or do your hair to match it.

A library committee will judge the submitted photographs. Entries will be judged on general
characteristics that include originality, insight context and style.
