COURSE SUBJECT TITLE             :       Disciplines and Ideas in the Applied Social Sciences
CORE SUBJECT DESCRIPTION:
The course introduces students to basic concepts and subjects and methods of inquiry in the disciplines that form the Social Sciences. It then discusses influential thinkers and ideas in these
disciplines. It relates these ideas to the Philippine setting and current global trends.
CONTENT STANDARD:
       The learner demonstrate an understanding of the emergence of the Social Sciences and the different disciplines.
       The learner understands the key concepts and approaches in the Social Sciences.
       The learner demonstrates the key concepts in the Social Sciences rooted in Filipino language/s and experiences.
       The learner understands the role of Social Science in the real world.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
       The learners shall be able to connect the disciplines with their historical and social foundations.
       The learners interpret personal and social experiences using relevant approaches in the Social Sciences.
       The learners evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the approach.
       The learners shall be able to carry out an exploration of personal and social experiences using indigenous concepts.
       The learners demonstrate and illustrate situations and contexts where Social Science can be applied.
CULMINATING PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learner should be able to understand and appreciate the disciplines and ideas in the social science.
FORMATION STANDARD
The learners should understand the meaning and evaluates factors causing social, political, and cultural change.
The learners must appreciate the Filipino cultures and its importance for it defines who they really are.
The learners should understand that Filipinos are compassionate in all aspects in life.

                                          The teacher discusses the historical foundation and social context that led to the

                                      The class will do their group activity; Each group will show a free style creative presentation
                                      (e.g. Rap, Song, Poem, Tableau, etc.) of each discipline that will show the emergence of each
                                      discipline.
