Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this study is to know the effect of samgyeopsal into Kapampangan Cuisine.
Through this study, we will know the percentage of which one is preferable by the people these
days. This study is consisting of the advantage and disadvantages of the said topic. The study will
show us on how people give importance to the Kapampangan culture.
Which do you prefer eating Samgyeopsal or Kapampangan dishes? Which one is more
affordable? Today, in our generation we mostly like to choose foreign dishes than our own local
recipes. How many times do you eat samgyeopsal in a week? Samgyeopsal is very popular these
days. Samgyeopsal is remodeling our trademark in being the culinary capital of the Philippines.
Let us define what samgyeopsal means and where it came from. It is the influence of Korean
movies and pop stars? Samgyeopsal is another popular Korean meat dish that are enjoyed at
home or at Korean restaurants that specializes in meat dishes. The big question is “How does
Samgyeopsal change the Kapampangan Cuisine?”. Eating Samgyeopsal is very common to
Kapampangan like us. We sometimes disregard our very own Kapampangan cuisine. The diverse
and rich flavors of the food is evident in every Kapampangan dishes as they put the best
ingredients to produce quality and palatable food that is widely known. Did you know that sisig
is the most famous dish of Kapampangan cuisine? Just like the Samgyeopsal the main ingredient
is pork. As a youth of hope do you still value your own culture, or is now in favor of foreign
culture?

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
In 21st Century, everything changes day by day. The Researchers observed the increasing
numbers of Korean Restaurants rather than Kapampangan Cuisine. Just like Samgeopsal, one of
the most popular Korean Dishes here in Pampanga. People are getting addicted to it instead of
adoring our own delicacy. Aside from Koreans, Filipinos are also one of the owners of the said
Restaurant. In other restaurants, there is a partnership between Koreans and Filipino wherein the
main dish is Korean dish, while the side dish is Filipino dish and vice versa.
Do you think that when Korean dish and Filipino dish are good to be merged? As we can see,
there is a positive effect in partnership between Filipinos and Koreans. Because through to it, we
can also build a relationship. On the other side, being influenced by the other dishes aside from
Filipino dishes will make us not dedicated to our own product.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
I. The Researchers will conduct this research to identify the effects of patronizing other dishes
aside to Kapampangan dish
II. To assembled data on how many Kapampangan people would rather choose their dish rather
than the own popular food of other countries.
III. The researchers determined which from the mentioned dishes is more affordable to the budget
of Kapampangan
IV. The researchers confirmed if the samgyupsal is really reducing the
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The focus of the study is to determine how Samgyeopsal affect the Kapampangan
cuisine to the Kapampangan people. The data collection conducted 32% of
Kapampangan people prefer Sisig than Samgyeopsal and 68% ?of Kapampangan
people prefer Samgyeosal than Sisig. The study was done trough utilization of
questionnaire to the Kapampangan people as a survey and reference. By their strategy
the researchers will be able to know the effects on how does Samgyeopsal affects the
culinary culture of Pampanga.

•The significance of the study to the Kapampangan people is for them to value and give
importance to their culinary culture in order for them to maintain and preserve their culinary
tradition for our future generations.
Researcher
•The significance of the study to the researcher is for them to comply with their school
requirements, furthermore apply the knowledge that they have learned, and for them to explore
and expand their knowledge so that they will learn more about their topic. It will also benefit
the researcher by expanding their knowledge about their culinary culture.
Future Researcher
The significance of the study to the future Researcher is for them to have an example
that they can use to begin a culinary culture research and have a basis on how they are
going to improve their own study.
