How to judge whether a dasa of the planet is good or bad?

Factors Involved

The scriptures provide the dasa effects for each of the following

Benefic
1) Dasa Lord in Arohi
2) Dasa Lord aspected by benefics
3) Dasa lord In Ati Bandhu Rasi
4) Dasa Lord in Bandhu Rasi
5) Dasa Lord in Ucha Rasi
6) Dasa Lord in Ati Ucha
7) Dasa Lord in MoolaTrikona
8) Dasa Lord in trikona
9) Dasa lord in Kendra
10) Dasa Lord in Saumya Shashtiamsa
11) Dasa Lord in own rasi
12) Dasa Lord in Neecha Rasi & Ucha Navamsa
13) Dasa Lord with Cheshta Bala
14) Dasa Lord with Digbala
15) Dasa Lord with Drik bala
16) Dasa Lord with Naisargiga Bala
17) Dasa Lord with sthana bala

Anthar dasa, chidra, sookshma, prana etc should be evaluated as above.

Other factors
1) The position of antar dasa lord from the position of Maha dasa lord.(Very Important)
2) If dasa lord is in benefic / malefic position during Transit
3) Swarnadi avastha of the transit plant.
4) The position of the moon on the day dasa starts
5) Malefic positions are 6/8/12 in general from native moon.
6) Varshaphal, masa phal etc.

The effect for each of the above factors are given by contemporaries like Sage Parasara,
Jaimini, Varaha Mihira, Kalyanavarma, Sathyacharya, etc. Not all the authors have provided
for the conditions. I have collected these materials and made the list so that we can
understand better what to look for in knowing the effects of dasa.

The effects given are mostly for vimshottari dasa. However, the criteria’s provided can be
used for other type of dasas as well. A major change is in the evaluation of Kalachakra dasa.
