ZUMBA Dance Competition
GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. The Zumba Dance competition is open to all Grade 7 to 11 students and teachers of Diadi Region High School.
Any theme for the Zumba dance is acceptable as long as CHRISTMAS SPIRIT (music and/or props and
costume) is incorporated.
2. ALL STUDENTS together with their class advisers/subject teachers (if they want) may join the said contest.
Members of the group may be composed of all males or females, or any thereof.
3. The Zumba dance music must only last for 5 minutes per group.
4. Appropriate clothing should be observed throughout the competition. Attire may include accessories such hats,
caps, gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc. removing pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed provided
that it is not offensive or out of the character
5. Order of Performances will be based on the number they had picked prior to the contest per Grade level.
6. Groups must bring the music ahead before performance. No live band or musicians allowed. There should be a
back-up copy in case the submitted music fails to play.
7. Music and Choreography should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any subliminal, sexually
suggestive and vulgar lyrics / language or suggestive act.
8. Failure to come in the contest venue and adhere to the contest rules and regulations will mean disqualification
of the participants.
9. There will be three (3) panel of judges per cluster who will facilitate and maintain the fair standards of the said
competition.
10. The decision of the panel of judges is FINAL AND IRREVOCABLE.
11. Three winners (Champion, First runner-up and Second runner-up) per curriculum
12. The following CRITERIA should be strictly applied:
Passion, Stamina and Group Coordination 30%
Execution of Zumba Dance steps 25%
ZUMBA Dance Music with Adherence 20%
to the theme
Appropriateness of ZUMBA Dance 15%
Moves/Routines
Audience Impact 10%
