Dear Sir/Madam
REF: Motivational letter
I recently submitted my PhD at the department of Industrial Engineering at Stellenbosch
University and looking for opportunities and a platform that enable me to explore
and develop personal and professional potential within most dynamic and diverse
companies in the world. This imply that I am looking for an opportunity to work for a
business that supports me in the acquisition of new knowledge whilst developing practical
skills of future leadership through continuous training, coaching and working with
diverse people from different cultural backgrounds. This graduate supply chain analyst
position is a great opportunity to enhance my skills hence my motivation for applying.
It is difficult to articulate why I chose Industrial Engineering in a few well-chosen
words since the boundaries of the field of study are certainly broad and fuzzy. This however
implies a very definite advantage since a person with a degree in Industrial Engineering
has a very wide choice in terms of work environment, type of employer or self-
employment. Industrial Engineering studies the systems, processes, technology, and
people that make up organisations. They use various methods to integrate complex
systems and processes. Industrial Engineers increase productivity and quality by finding
improved ways of doing things.
The Industrial Engineering degree equipped me with knowledge and skills in a wide variety
of disciplines, and a solid foundation in the science of Engineering with an emphasis
on developing analytical techniques and complex problem solving skills. Above all, the
reason I studied Industrial engineering was to enhance my systems thinking abilities
and my analytical approach to complex problem solving.
Lastly, I have a strong academic record, scoring a distinction in my undergraduate degree
and my masters. I believe that the above qualities and experiences would make me
a valuable addition to your company. If there is any more information that you would like
to me provide, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely
Munyaradzi Bvuchete
