4. ASSEMBLY OF THE MECHANICAL
CONSTRUCTION
The mechanical part of the MagLev system is delivered fully assembled.
5. RT-DAC CARD INSTALLATION
The RT-DAC4/PCI card contains sensitive electric components, which can be
easily damaged by static electricity, therefore the card should be kept in its
original packing until it is installed. During installation the card should be
handled carefully only by the edges to avoid static electricity discharge
To install the card:
• Check, if CN3 connector of the card is connected to the rear bracket connector by a
short 20-way ribbon cable (included), Fig.5.1,
• Turn off the computer and remove the cover.
One empty PCI slot is required at the rear of your PC.
• Find an empty expansion slot, remove the metal bracket,
• Insert the RT-DAC4/PCI card into the expansion slot, then secure the card with the
screws,
• Secure rear bracket connector with the screws,
• Replace the cover of the computer.
• Connect CN1 marked part of 2 x 20-way ribbon cable to CN1 connector of the card
(see Fig.5.2),
• Connect CN3 marked part of 2 x 20-way to CN3 connector of the rear bracket
connector.
Before removing the cover turn OFF the computer and disconnect the
mains cable
