THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
Over the past few years, technology serves an important role in our society,
especially in school.
Technology help the student and teacher do their school activities
accurate and faster. With The use of computers, software can make the work
easy. As time goes by the number of student continuously growing, some schools
face the difficulties of handling student’s paper-based information through
traditional or manual process. Because of this common enrollment problems, the
researcher conduct a research about computer-based enrollment system as an
replacement to manual enrollment procedure. Computer-based enrollment
system is the process of inputting data of the student with the use of computer
that need in school enrollment process through a specific computer program. The
data of the students are inputted there safely and also easy to find if it is needed.
With the use of technology, the work hour and effort can be minimize. The
purpose of an enrollment process is to provide a means for staff and the faculty
to write down data that are essential to enrollment. Enrollment System is a system
information of the enrollee. In the advancement of technology, computer
systems can that is necessary to have a system like this in schools. With this, the
enrollment transactions will be faster and accurate. This will help the group
administrating the enrollment and also enrollees.
Background of the Study
The present system of the school is done manually such as the enrollment
system, and record keeping. From the start of the school’s operation, they use the
manual system.
During the enrollment period, students will go to the enrolment
administrator and for requirements needed for the enrollment. The administrator
will then evaluate student’s grades in order to know what subject are to be taken
in the current school year and to know their status. A list of subjects that the
students are required to take will be prepared by the evaluator.
The manual updating of the student’s records slows down the admission
process because the enrolling officer takes time to search and locate the records
of the student in the filing cabinet. Delays in the evaluation of students because
the enrolling officer takes time to check student’s previous grades and some of
the student’s records are misplaced. Tallying of subjects also takes time because
of non-organized student’s files.
For these reasons, the researchers were challenged and have decided to
design and develop a computerized enrollment system that is fast, accurate,
reliable, and easy to use. The proposed enrollment system is a good step for the
school. This could be a great help to the people who are handling many tasks
during the enrollment period by providing fast and easier access to information.
Objectives
The completion of the design and development of software will depend
upon meeting the following goals and objectives:
To minimize the effort of the teacher-in-charge or the enrolling officer in
updating student’s record.
To speed up the enrollment process in all year levels.
To provide a database for student’s files so that the enrolling officers would
easily update records.
To generate reports that is fast, reliable and accurate.

Statement of the Problem
The main objective of the study is to determine the level of acceptance of
the proposed computerized enrollment system. Specifically, it will seek to answer
the following:
1. How enrollment system serves its function in terms of collecting student’s data
and information?
1.1 Accessibility to the user
1.2 Reliability of Information
1.3 Responsiveness of program
1.4 Layout
2. The level of acceptance and satisfaction to the proposed computerized
enrollment system.
Scope and Delimitation
The researchers conducted this study and created a program application
where the teacher are able to enroll the student. This study focuses on Senior High
students in San Jose Del Monte National High School.
Significance of the Study
School - This research aims to reach the schools that will be building their
own computer-based enrollment system. By building a computer-based
enrollment system, they can make enrollment process easier and faster. They can
also use it as an alternative to paper-based enrollment to easily store enrollments
records with no hassle.
Teachers - This research aims to reach the teachers who will also be using
the computer-based enrollment system. They can use the program as an
alternative to paper-based enrollment system, it can make their enrollment duties
faster and easier. In computer-based enrollment system, the teacher
administrator on enrollment just input the important information of the student on
a computer in this particular program, which is much faster and accurate than
the paper-based enrollment process.
Students – This research aims to reach the students who will also be the
beneficiary of computer-based enrollment system. By building the computer-
based enrollment system, the student just need to say their personal information
and pass their card and other important document to the teacher administrator
at the time of enrollment. It can lessen their enrollment problem because the
student of less enrollment papers to fill up.
With this research study, these people will know the importance and how
a computer-based enrollment system can help them.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Introduction
This chapter presents the review of the related literature and studies and
the technical background of which will discuss the technicality of the project,
details of the technologies to be used and the relevance of the project.
Computerized Enrollment System
According to Studymode.com (2012) computerized enrollment system
tends to replace what we called “Paper Less” transaction and also it will make
any transaction easier and faster. Also it tends to lessen manpower and human
efforts in terms of processing any transaction in regards with enrollment
transaction.

Functionality of Computerized Enrollment System
Computerized enrollment system tend to replace paper or what we called
“Paper Less” transaction and also it will make any transaction easier and faster.

Paper-Less Enrollment System
The Computerized Enrolment System was proposed in replacement of the
manual process of enrollment in public high schools for it to have an organized
flow of transaction and an ease of work. The study is concerned on how the
manual enrolment performs throughout the company’s transaction. The
numerous transactions that the manual system covers, such as updating and
adding student records, generating the advising and assessment slips, and the
like are commending the manual enrolment system to be inefficient for the needs
of the institution.

Accessibility of Computerized Enrollment System
Computerized enrollment system process is the way the school can find an
easier and better way to implement an enrollment system. The automation of the
said system will be implemented through the use of equipment like computers
and printers. Users can use this equipment in order for the work to be done faster
and it can lessen the processing time because of fast accessing of grades. The
researchers will develop a system that can minimize the processing time in order
to access records of the students quickly so that enrollment process will be much
faster than usual.

Responsiveness of the program
The progress of institutions is largely determined by the ability to make use
of computer technology. Computerization is a conclusive evidence of the
advancement in science and technology which task is to maximize its purpose,
primarily in education. The converting of manual to computerized system is one
best alternative to carry out manually workloads such as keeping records,
computations, and retrieving information in the shortest possible. In the global
village of the new economy, larger automation companies have little option-
they must find more ways and means to expand worldwide. to do this they need
to minimize domination of the central corporate culture, and maximize
responsiveness to local customer needs.

Reliability of Information
In Bataan Polytechnic State College, the college-wide computerized
enrollment system was implemented. Last October 2005, they put into operation
the college –wide enrollment system for the first semester of the academic year
2005-2006.
Applying the results and data generated by the administration, the college
was able to remedy usual problems during admissions and enrollments such as
the tendency to overlook procedures, confusion among the students on proper
enrollment steps, and the inconsistency of the information generated and
submitted to various offices within and outside the BPST. Furthermore, the college
was able to triple the number of students served each day during the enrollment
period. This made the operation faster, more accurate and efficient.
