Description
Dr. Fixit Raincoat Classic system is composed of high quality acrylic emulsion polymer, light fast & weather
durable pigments, properly selected & graded fine fillers, additives & biocides. It is used as a waterproofing &
protective coating for exterior walls of the buildings because it forms high film thickness. It has excellent flexibility,
breathability, water resistance, crack-bridging, weathering durability and an excellent resistance to the growth of

micro organisms.
Typical Applications
}}All types of exterior masonry surfaces, concrete, cement sand renderings, existing coating etc.
}}Applicable on cement sheets.
Features
}}Resists wind - driven rain, helps prevent water penetration into the substrate.
}}Anti-carbonation - Effective carbon dioxide diffusion barrier protects embedded steel from corrosion
}}Waterproofing – Higher film thickness provides crack bridging ability, waterproofing properties
}}Flexibility – Flexible and covers hairline cracks(up to 2 mm) effectively, thus prevents ingress of water.
}}Toughness – Tough film withstands wind driven rain.
}}Elastomeric – High elasticity easily withstands stress caused by thermal expansion & contraction
}}Ready to use – No dilution is required
}}Microbial resistance – Resistance to fungus and algae hence maintains the aesthetic value.
}}UV resistant – provides excellent color retention for a long lasting attractive finish
}}Low dirt pick up – Very low dirt pick up & can be cleaned easily hence maintains the aesthetics.
}}Ease of application – User friendly, easily applicable by brush, roller or spray.

Method of Application
1 S urfac e P reparati o n
}}Surface must be thoroughly cleaned, free of dust, grease etc and washed well with water. The surface to be
checked for cracks, hollowness and loose plastered areas etc if any. All loose plaster and cracks larger than 10
mm width to be repaired with polymer modified mortar using Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP. The cracks up to 5 mm to be
treated with Dr. Fixit Crack-X Paste and the larger ones up to 10 mm with Dr. Fixit Crack-X Shrinkfree.

}}After the proper surface preparation and curing of repaired areas wash the surface well and maintaining it in
saturated surface dry condition proceed for priming using Dr. Fixit Primeseal diluted in 2:1 ratio with water (2
parts Primeseal diluted with 1 part water). Maintain the spreading rate of 8-10 sq mtr per litre for a single coat
application to achieve about 20 – 25 microns DFT. Allow it to dry for 6-8 hrs.
3 COAT I N G
}}Brush apply one coats of Dr. Fixit Raincoat Universal Base Coat without any dilution Maintain the spreading rate
of 3.5 -4.0 sq mtr per litre / coat application to achieve about 120-130 microns DFT. The second coat of Dr. Fixit
Raincoat Classic Top Coat to be apply with interval of 6-8 hours without any dilution. Maintain the spreading rate
of 7-8 sq mtr per litre / coat application to achieve about 50-60 microns DFT.

Surface preparation for painted surface:
Existing substrates must be cleaned to remove all dirt, mildew and other contaminants. This is accomplished by
pressure-cleaning equipment with a minimum capability of 100-140 bar water pressure. All grease, oils and asphalt
materials must be removed completely.

In repainting Dr. Fixit Primeseal can be eliminated based on existing paint condition.
Repainting:
It is very important to assess the condition of existing paint film before proceeding for repainting with Dr. Fixit
Raincoat Classic system. The performance of Raincoat Classic system will depend upon the condition of the
existing paint. If the existing paint film is flaking or has a weak bonding with the substrate then the subsequent
coat of Raincoat classic will face the adhesion problem.
For a repainting work if the surface is in sound condition then Primeseal is not required and the same covering
rates of Dr Fixit Raincoat Universal Base Coat and Dr. Fixit Raincoat Classic to be maintained.
