IRON ORE PELLETIZATION:-
Kutch bentonites have a higher percentage of iron which makes them ideal for iron ore pellets with
maximum percentage of iron. They are used as a binding agent , for iron ore fines to be converted into
spherical pellets suitable as a feed material for blast furnaces for pig iron production etc..
FOUNDRY: -
Bentonite being a bonding material facilitates in the preparation of molding sand for ferrous and non-
ferrous casting. The unique properties of bentonite yield green sand moulds with compactibility and
stability for production of high quality castings.
CAT LITTER:-
Bentonite is used for Cat litter. Sodium bentonites are the most suitable for cat litter as it has the
advantage of absorbing refuse by forming clumps and leaving the remain product intact.
CONSTRUCTION AND CIVIL ENGINEERING: -
Bentonite due to its viscosity and plasticity is used in Portland cement and mortars. The Kutch
Bentonite has excellent filtration properties which makes it ideal for all water proofing activities and
acts as an environment protection utilization.
DRILLING: -
The conventional use of bentonite with special higher mud yield results in using less quantity of
Bentonite. The main roles are mainly to seal the borehole walls, to remove drill cuttings and to
lubricate the cutting ahead.
