Material Staging Scenario

The document provides steps for configuring and performing automatic material staging from a central store to a production store using pull lists in SAP. Key steps include: 1. Configuring stock determination groups, rules, and tables. 2. Adding stock determination rules to inventory management and goods movement. 3. Maintaining stock determination for movement types in pull lists. 4. Entering a production order for a finished product requiring raw materials from a central store location to a production store location. 5. Using the pull list to select materials, view staging requirements, and initiate an automatic stock determination to stage materials from the central to production store locations.

Scenario: Automatic transfer posting (material staging) from central store to production store

Before we start with the scenario we need to do some configurations as the prerequisite for material
staging.

1. Go to SPRO---->materials management---->Inventory Management and Physical Inventory---->Stock

Determination---->Define Strategies for Stock Determination(t-code-OSPX)
Do the new entries for stock determination group, stock determination rule & header & item table if the
configuration for the plant is not done.
Then go to inventory management

And select the movement type for stock determination and enter the stock determination rule & save.

Then go to goods movement stock/batch determination overview and add stock determination rule.

Then go to pull list (t-code OSPP) and maintain stock determination for movement type 311 & save.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Consider a plant which has 2 storage locations as below: -
Plant = 3100
Central storage location = 2110
Production storage location = 2101
The Raw Material stock is available in central storage location i.e. 2110
The material 91187 is being manufactured and below given is its process order.
Below given are the components required for producing finished product the requirement quantity for all
the materials is 100 each.

Now the material need to be transferred from central store to production storage location as per the
process order quantity this process is called material staging through pull list.
For automatic selection of central storage location i.e. 2110 for the component in the pull list, for material
transfer, we have to maintain the stock determination group in material master in MRP2 view as below.

Same way maintain stock determination group for all 3 raw materials or components of Header material.
Following is the process for Material staging
T-code MF60
In the production/process orders tab, enter the production order number in case of multiple orders, select
multiple selection as highlighted below and press execute.
The below screen will appear in which you will see the entire list of components for all the orders which
are required to be staged in Production storage location. Select all the components and click on
replenishment proposals button.

The system will calculate the requirement quantities in production store and accordingly it will display the
material quantity which is staged and displayed.

Thus via pull list material staging is done and material is transferred from central storage location to
production storage location as per the production/process order quantity.
Then select replenishment elements tab on left top of the screen. Below given screen gets displayed where
stock determination and staging is carried out.
As seen above the Rep loc. column is empty. Rep Loc. is nothing but central SL from where the components
will be transferred to prod. SL.
To transfer the components, select all the components and press Batch/Stock Determination button.

As seen above, the system takes the Rep Loc. from the stock determination group maintained from the
material master. this is done automatically.
Now select the components again and press Stage button so that the material will be transferred from
central storage location to production storage location and save the staging.
As below you can see the material is shifted from central storage location i.e. 2110 to production storage
location i.e. 2101.
