1. Introduction

Yearbooks are an important part of an individual’s history. In today’s world, the printed

yearbook is out-dated. What are in trend now are digitized yearbooks. So I’m taking this

opportunity to advise them not to print yearbooks because they are no longer in fashion. (Armin

Luistro)

A digital yearbook is a great alternative to conventional hardbound-paper-based yearbook. It

is designed to help you connect with your old friends and share your memories at school. More

photos and videos can be stored and organized. No more paper creases and tearing. No smaller

black and white photos. It can be installed in your phone or tablet. It can be viewed in laptops. It

can be accessed online using a web address of your choice. You don’t have to bring a hard copy

anywhere. Just download and install.

A Yearbook Application that can be installed in mobile devices. It is designed to make a

yearbook portable using phones or tablets. Once downloaded and installed in the devices,

internet connection is no longer needed Digital Yearbook Companion is a digital interactive

yearbook projector that can be run in windows or mac computer or mobile devices. It is an

immersive flash format that can be projected on large screen using your computer or laptop.

Yearbook Online is a web-based yearbook designed to make a yearbook accessible anytime-

anywhere. A unique domain name can be chosen and hosted in a server. It can also be re-

uploaded for future reunions

for the one tap you can returned all the memories. This application would detect and know who’s

students are gradeated in Baliwag Polytechnic College.

1.1 Background of the Study

Mobile based year book gallery application is designed to making the entire yearbook process extra

easy. This will help the student to lessen their expenses in school and to lessen the burden of teachers and

students. This system is also saving tons of paper and thousands of green plants. Besides, this mobile

based year book gallery application can save your money because this avoids expensive printing cost. It

also possible to share your yearbook with people from all around the world through internet. You can also

enable your yearbook to be shared on social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Mobile

based yearbook gallery application is easy to use, you just installed this application in your mobile device.

You don't have to bring a hard copy anywhere. In this app, your profile and pictures are saved securely on

the cloud and on the cloud and can be accessed anytime from anywhere with a secure login. Every year

students print their school yearbook and share with schoolmates and friends. Although printed version

yearbooks are treasure full of wonderful memories, they have obvious disadvantages compared with

mobile based yearbook gallery application that is more eco-friendly, accessible and flexible.

History

The Charter of the Baliwag Polytechnic College was established by Sangguniang Bayan Ordinance No.

06, Series 2008 of the Municipality of Baliwag, Bulacan. The said ordinance which was authored by Atty.

Enrique “Buco” Dela Cruz and passed on May 9, 2008 was the idea of Mayor Romeo M. Estrella who has

always thought of providing opportunity to deserving children of poor citizens of Baliwag to acquire free

post-secondary and tertiary education.

For its start the Baliwag Polytechnic College offered Two-Year Certificate Courses in Hotel and

Restaurant Services and Computer Technology. The HRS course has specialization in Food and

Beverages, Baking and Pastry, Housekeeping, and Commercial Cooking. Computer Technology focuses

on Consumer Electronics and NC IV Programming is the specialization in Information Technology.

The first sets of students were scheduled to attend classes at the second and fourth floors of the St.

Augustine College Building and the first floor of the Old Municipal. Building, Cagayan Valley Road,

Poblacion, Baliwag, Bulacan. There are 209 who enrolled in HRS, 178 in Information Technology and

42 in Computer Technology or a total of 429. The classes will be transferred to the Second Floor and third

floors of the former BMG Building near the Baliwag Public Market at Barangay Poblacion, Baliwag,

Bulacan.
1.2.2 Mission and Vision

Mission

To provide relevant and updated quality educational development to the underprivileged youths of

Baliwag and the neigh boring towns.

Vision

An educational institution that actively assists in the development of needed youth manpower in a rapidly

changing world from among the underprivileged members of the Baliwag Community.

Objectives

To provide degree courses un Education, Accountancy, Business, Information Techonology, Hotel and

Restaurant Management and other currently in-demand courses;

To provide special and/or market-driven education and training in vocational, technical and technological

fields.

To offer short-term specialized skills or proficiency-based science and technology, related technical

courses needed by business and industry in the province.

To integrate the Christian values in all activities of administrators, faculty, students and staff.

To infuse the culture of research, community services, peace and information technology in the curricula

of all academic departments.

To enhance among its constituents the values academic excellence, patriotism, integrity, innovativeness

and stewardship.

1.3 Proposed System

The proposed system that we came up with will help the teacher and students in term of expenses

because yearbook development is costly and time consuming . The system will have various accounts in

which the user can log in and start doing his/her work by using their own secure passwords. Now with

most of the work being presented to them already they can just make adjustments or add their input to the

system. As soon as the process is done they can open the application and enjoy the yearbook. We have

been focused on making the entire yearbook process extra easily. You will see many more layouts,

background and stickers in our application. We have 20+ themes in various colours and design that will

help you easily create a beautiful, consistent yearbook. Together, we have created the best yearbook

application available today. We just have a memorable yearbook that one click it will bring back all the

happy memories.

2. Problem and Its Background

2.1 General Problem

Based on our analysis, there is no research or system that will help the graduating student in terms

of yearbook so that the general problem is on how to have an yearbook using application and how will be

helpful to the student in terms of life time and memorable yearbook

2.2 Specific Problem

1. How to produce and generate an accurate mobile year book galley application?

2. How to have an organized and satisfy the students in terms of digital year book?

3. How will be the design of the yearbook application?

4. How to log-in the year book application?

5. How will be the content of the yearbook?

6. How to organized and manage the application?

3.1 General Objectives

The main objective of the system is to design and develop a yearbook using Mobile gallery

application. This application will provide satisfaction to the students; also it can reflect the events and

lives of people involved with their school during their school year.

3.2 Specific Objectives

1. To create a system that is low production cost, means low financial burden to students.

2. In the future, enjoy looking back and getting nostalgic.

3. To produce an application or system that contain more photos and videos

4. To create easy to distribute and store and can be accessible online 24/7

5. All files are backed up both locally and in the cloud

4. Scope and Delimitation of the Study

4.1 Scope of the Study

This system will focus on mobile yearbook application of graduating students of Baliwag

Polytechnic College. The students and teacher will be the user of this system and they need to log in to

use this application. Simply, the students can use their mobile phones to become part of this application

and make it easier to see their information in yearbook.

4.2 Delimitation of the Study

This system is limited to the number of students who will log in this application and also to the

graduating students of Baliwag Polytechnic College. All files are backed up both locally and in the cloud.
