THE LOS OSOS BAND, ORCHESTRA &

COLOR GUARD “WEEKLY”

For January 13 – January 19, 2020

"Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
– Winston Churchill
2020 Band, Orchestra & Color Guard
Spring Semester Fundraising Efforts
In order to continue to exist at the level of quality that we have come to expect of our program at Los Osos, we will need to generate through fundraising approximately $72,500.00
during this current spring semester. This amount breaks down to a “fair-share donation” of $500.00 per each band, orchestra and color guard student. This contribution is configured
ONCE per student, regardless of how many ensembles/classes the student participates in. This money is utilized to complete the budget that is listed below. As always, please
schedule an appointment with Mr. Encina if you have financial difficulty in participating in the band program. NO STUDENT WILL BE DENIED THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE
IN OUR PROGRAM DUE TO FINANCIAL REASONS, WHATSOEVER.

Our fundraising goals are as follows:

1) Friday, January 17, 2020 = $125.00 per band, orchestra & color guard student

2) Friday, February 7, 2020 = $125.00 per band, orchestra & color guard student

3) Friday, March 6, 2020 = $125.00 per band, orchestra & color guard student

4) Friday, April 3, 2020 = $125.00 per band, orchestra & color guard student

• Families with two or more students in the program will pay a fair-share for only one student but will need to cover any apparel and trip costs for each of their
students.

• Winter Guard required costumes will be on a separate apparel order form, not included in the fair-share budget.

Fundraising is available for those students who request the materials by visiting www.losososmusic.org
Parent/guardian donations are also accepted in lieu of fundraising,
checks made payable to “LOHS Band Boosters.”

another class is against school policy. Please schedule make-ups and tutoring so that they do not interfere with
our zero period rehearsals. Thank you!

has invited Los Osos HS band students to sit-in on the rehearsals and sight-read! This is a low- pressure, fun
opportunity for our musicians to practice their sight-reading and meet fellow musicians from our area. If you can’t
stay all the way until 9:30pm, it’s okay to leave early. Earn extra credit for this by taking a selfie picture on your
phone with Mr. Aranda and email this picture to Mr. Encina at tomorrow to earn ten (10) points for all band
