Completing Story

The story is about a kind farmer who finds a half-dead snake by the side of the road during winter. He takes pity on it and brings it home, warming it by the fire and feeding it warm milk until it recovers. The snake begins playing with the farmer's children but later bites one of them with its fangs, showing its true nature. The farmer realizes his mistake in thinking the snake could change and says "Black will take no other hue" as he kills the snake with a stick.

1. The king and his Justice.

Once upon a time, there were two women. One of them had a baby but the other did not have. The
other woman claimed that the baby was her. She quarreled and at last went to the court of King
Solomon. King Solomon was just king and  witty. He wanted to examine who was real mother of
the baby. So he ordered the soldiers to take a knife and cut the baby into two pieces. But the real
mother rushed to him and kneeled not to kill the body. For this king realized it’s a real mother and
gave her that the baby.
Read the following story. It is not complete. Use the clues, complete the story and give it a title.
Once there was a farmer in a village. His condition was moderately well. The farmer had a pet dog.
He loved his dog very much. Everyday he fed its with its heart content. On the other hand, the dog
also liked its master very highly--------------------------.
2. The justice of Quazi 
Giashuddin Azam Shah was the ruler of Bengal. He was  kind and just a ruler. He was very much
fond of archery. One day when he was practicing archery, all on a sudden his arrow missed its
target and pierced into the breast of a young boy who died instantly. The boy was the son of a
widow. She went to the Quazi. The Quazi asked the sultan to make the widow happy. The sultan
compensated for his guilt and the widow became pleased. Then the Quazi embraced the sultan.
He said if the sultan disobeyed him he would have punished him. The sultan also said if the Quazi
failed to make he would have beaten the Quazi. Then the two great men became ever friends.
Once there lived a middle aged woman named Bilkis. She had three sons. Her husband was very
lazy and did not do any work. None but she had to work all day long to earn money for the family.
One day she met a group of people who came to her village from the Grameen bank. They said
that they were interested in helping the poor people, the landless and the helpless. She learn from
them that ------
3. The Cunning Fox and the Stupid Goat
One day, a fox was wandering in search of food. It came across a well and peeped into it. But
unluckily, it fell into it. There was, however, no water inside. It was not too deep. Yet, the fox
couldn’t get out of it. With the passage of time, the fox grew tense. He could hear a goat passing by
the well. He began praising the sweetness of the water. The goat peeped in. The fox invited the
goat to taste the water. The goat got persuaded and jumped into the well. As soon as the goat was
in, the fox leapt upon it and got out. The goat remained in the well bleating.
4. An Ant and a Grasshopper
Once there lived two friends named Mr. Grasshopper and Mr. Ant. But they were different by
nature to each other. Mr. Ant was very hardworking. It was a cold winter day when Mr. Ant was
looking at his winter stores cheerfully. Just at that time a grasshopper came and said, "I am hungry,
please save my life." So the grasshopper requested the ant to save his life from starvation by
giving him some food. 
The Ant asked him, “ What did you do during summer?” The grasshopper replied , “ I spent the
whole summer singing . The ant said, "How could you spend the whole summer without doing
anything? Didn't you think that if you didn't work, you would have to starve?" The grasshopper said,
"l am very sorry for wasting my time and now I can realize what a blunder I made.” But the  Ant
said, "Poor grasshopper, it is true we have enough for ourselves but we are not in a position to help
you." Moreover, he advised the grasshopper to dance in winter since he sang in summer.

5. The cunning fox and the foolish crocodile.


Once a crocodile wanted her four children to be educated. She went to a fox to teach them. The
cunning fox gladly received the offer. So the crocodile left all her children with the fox and went
back to the river. The fox liked to eat crocodile’s kids. So he ate one of them and kept the other
three. After some days, the crocodile came to see her children. Then the cunning fox showed her
the three kids and showed one of them twice.
The foolish mother crocodile thought that she saw all the four of her children and went away. The
cunning fox again ate another one of the crocodile’s kids. After some days the crocodile came and
the fox again showed both of them twice. Thus one day the fox ate all the kids and refused the
crocodile to give back her kids, because the kids are now educated. They can move now all by
themselves. They do not need their mother or any assistance.
6. The Greatness of Hatem Tai.
Long,long,there lived a very kind and generous man,called Hatem Tai in Yemen.He gave his riches
to the por and distressed.The people loved hatem tai and praised him more than the king of the
country.So the king became jealous of hatem tai andwanted to kill him.The king sent his soldier to
kill Hatem Tai.But Hatem Tai left his palace and riches and went into hiding in a forest.Failing to
catch Htem Tai the king declared a handsome reward of  one thousand gold coins for cathing
Hatem Tai.A woodcutter and his wife were taking rest sitting beside a bush.They did not know that
Hatem Tai was hiding in the bush.The wife said that if they could arrest Hatem Tai,they would get
the reward and become rich.Hearing this Hatem Tai said to himself,I have nothing but my own life
to give them.So he surrendered to them.The wood cutter was very honest and refused to take
Hatem Tai to the king. In the meantime five armed men came and and took away Hatem from
them. The woodcutter and his wife also followed them. Everybody claimed to the king that he had
caught Hatem.But Hatem said that it was the woodcutter and not the other people who caught and
brought Hatem Tai to the king.He requested the king to give  the promised money to the poor
woodcutter’s family,so that they would live in peace.The king heard everything from the
woodcutter.He sai,”I am proud but you are kind and humble.I am defeated by youAs long as you
live please stay in my court and do good to my subjects.You are free to do anything you like for the
welfare of my kingdom.”
7. The barbar and the ghost.

Once a barber was passing through a jungle. The jungle was haunted by a ghost. He knew it. But
he was very brave and cunning. Suddenly he saw somebody sitting on the branch of a tamarind
tree. He got startled. But he was not such a person who would run in fear. He approached towards
it courageously. The ghost also got down from the tree and stood in his way. The barber saw that
the ghost was strange to look at. His hands, legs, teeth, nose were deformed. He made a barricade
extending his hands and told that he (ghost) would kill him (barber). In a shrieking voice the ghost
said, “Hey barber, I will now kill you and eat you up. Nobody can save you.”
The barber got angry but suppressed his anger. He could realize that he had to defeat him by the
intellect, not by bodily power. With ready wit, he said, “Do you know I have a mightier ghost than
you and he obeys me strictly?” The ghost got furious and said, “I don’t believe that there is any
ghost other than me in this locality.”
Then the barber took out his mirror and put it before the face of the ghost. The ghost has not seen
such a terrifying face before got terrified. Still, he wanted to frighten the ghost in the mirror (his
reflection). The reflection also frowned. The ghost without standing a single moment there ran
away in extreme fear. The barber started for his home with great delight.
8. Mohsin and a Thief.
Hazi Mohammad Mohsin was a kind man. He helped people in many ways. He was famous for his
kindness.
One night he was sleeping in his room. He heard a sound and woke up. He saw a stranger
standing in one corner of the room. The man looked pale and poor. He was trembling with fear. He
did not try to run away but stood still.

Mohsin asked him who he was. The man replied that he was a thief. He also narrated his sorrows
and suerings. Mohsin became sympathetic and gave him some money. He told the man to come
whenever he was in dicultly. He advised the man not to steal.

The man was pleased enough and thanked Mohsin with all his heart. Then he went away for his
home. He promised that he would never steal. He was grateful to Hazi Mohammad Mohsin for his
help and generosity.

9. Black will take no other hue

It was a winter morning. Cold wind was blowing heavily. A farmer was going to his field. He found a
snake half dead with cold, laying by the side of the road. He took pity on the of the road. He took
pity on the wretched snake. He put it in his basket and brought it home. He warmed the snake with
fire and gave it warm milk and made it fresh. It was all right with it and it got quite well very soon. It
began to play with the children of the farmer. For the time being, it behaved well but afterwards it
showed its actual behavior and forgot the sympathy of the kind farmer. One day while playing with
the children of the farmer, it spread out its fang and bit one of them. The farmer realized his
mistake. He understood that an evil always remains an evil. So he became very angry and killed
the snake with a stick, saying, “Black will take no other hue.”
