Description:
The Bank would like to generate reports using a centralized financial data warehouse
(FDW) repository using a MOLAP. There were two cubes developed for general ledger
and management reporting. The storage for GL is BSO & MR is ASO. GL is BSO to
perform adjustments. The business can do an ad hoc analysis using the cubes.
The use of this project also eliminates the manual intervention of the users in
building the reports and also reduces the time to generate data. Business always will
see the latest data which will be published in workspace. Users have been given
provision to schedule the reports. Users can also track the status of the cube builds
(Start/Processing/Succeeded/failed) using a tool provided by the team (Traffic
lights). The reports can be published accurately as the data that comes from FDW is
processed systematically in Essbase using the Essbase rules files & Calc scripts.
