(Through this song the pupils will learn about the importance of eating healthy foods and what
are the benefits it gives to our body.)

2. Food Group is Fun

The teacher will play a video of an action song called “Food Group is Fun” this is about the basic
food groups. She will let the pupils listen and follow the instructions or steps given in the video.
After that the teacher will repeat the given steps to ensure that the pupils could follow and be
able to perform the action song. Then, they will all perform the action song by following the
steps that are shown in the video.

Vegetables – Stomp your feet
Fruits – Turn around
Meat and Protein – Nod your head
Oils and Sweets – Sway your hips

(This action song will give the pupils an idea about the basic food groups, their sources and the
nutrients they provide to our body. )

3. Build Me-Up
The teacher will prepare cut-outs of the different body parts and its label. Pupils must put the
body parts in its exact position to build a correct human form then label it correctly. To add
some fun to it, after the pupils had completed to build and label the different body parts. Let
them sing in chorus the song entitled “My Toes, My Knees”. (This activity will motivate the
pupils to be active and have fun while learning the different body parts.)

My Toes, My Knees

My toes, my knees, my shoulders, my head (3x)

We all clap our hands together.

4. Roll A Dinausor Movement Game

To play, have the pupil toss the cube. Whichever dinosaur and action is facing up is the
movement to act out! These don’t need to be done in any certain way and can be adapted to
your pupil's abilities. Here are the movements on the cube.

Stretch like an Apatosaurus: Reach up high with both arms to stretch up tall.
Stomp like a Stegosaurus: Stomp both feet to pretend to be a big dinosaur.
Swing like an Apatosaurus: Pretend to have large tail swinging from side to side.
Prowl like a T-Rex: Tip-toe with elbows bent and arms up (like t-rex arms) pretending to hunt for
food.
Paddle like a Plesiosaurus: Walk around while “swimming” with both arms.
Flap like a Pteranodon: Move both arms up and down to “fly”
And that’s it! A simple and fun game to get you moving like a dinosaur!

5. Pink toe
The teacher calls out a colour and a body part. Pupils must find an object in the room that has
that colour and then touch the object with the selected body part. For example, if the teacher
calls out “red nose”, pupils need to find an object that is red and touch it with their nose. The
teacher continues calling colours and body parts.

To spice things up, you can add an element of competition to this game. Pupils that are too slow
in completing the task can be asked to sit down. The last remaining pupil is the winner. (This
activity teaches both the different colors and body parts.)
