SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN
IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS 09
Grade Level/section: STE-9 Period: Fourth Grading
Duration: 1 hour Teaching Date: February 17,2020
I. OBJECTIVES:
A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of the basic concepts of trigonometry.
B. Performance Standard
The learner is able to apply the concepts of trigonometric ratios to formulate and
solve real-life problems with precision and accuracy.
C. Learning Competency
The learner uses trigonometric ratios to solve real-life problems involving
right triangles. M9GE-IVe-1
Specific learning outcomes:
At the end of the lesson, the 90% of the students shall be able to:
c.1. define the six trigonometric ratio;
c.2. choose the appropriate trigonometric ratio to be used; and
c.3. apply the concept of trigonometric ratios in solving real life
problems.
II. CONTENT
Solving Problems involving Trigonometric ratios
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References: DepEd Mathematics textbook
B. Other learning Resources: Teacher’s Guide
IV. PROCEDURES
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of attendance
4. Review
- Students will answer the prepared questions composed of 5 items the activity
entitled “Who will answer me”?. In this activity, students will pick a piece of paper which
will determine the person to answer the question.
B. Lesson Proper
A. Activity (Friends Feud through rock, paper and scissors.)
- The class will be divided into 2 groups. Each group should have a representative to
play the rock, paper and scissors. The group with 3 wins in the game will choose whether to
accept or pass the challenge. If the group accept the challenge they will be given 2 chances to
answer the question. And if they pass, the opponent will be given only 1 chance to answer the
problem. If the opponent answer the question correctly, they will be given 5 points otherwise
the points will be given to another group. Every group will be given think time (3 minutes) to
brainstorm and decide their final answer. There are 4 questions.
15 m
1. In solving word problems involving trigonometric ratios, what are you going to do?
- We need to understand the problem, take notes of the given information, and most
15 m importantly correctly illustrate the problem. Refer to the example at the right.
D. Application – (Reporting)
1m
- Answer the given problems. During presentation, present your output in a creative
way. You can sing, rap, act the given problem, etc.
V. EVALUATION (Think-Pair and share)
Directions: Answer the given problem below.
VI. ASSIGNMENT/ AGREEMENT
At what angle of elevation does the sun and the TNHS’s flag pole created at 7:30 AM? Make
an illustration describing the situation. Put this in the bond paper A4.
