6-If the mean value of the measured stress was 15 kg/mm2, and σ =12.5

Determine the probability of data which is out stress range of 130-175

kg/mm2 . Assume the data are normally distributed.

7-When measuring the weight of bicycles, the mean value is 9.07 kg, and σ = 0.4, the
distribution is normal, Find

[a] The % of bicycles less than 8.3 kg.

[b] The % of bicycles greater than 10 kg.

[c] The % of bicycles between 8 and 10 kg.

8- By examining the production on a grinding machine, it was found that 10% of


the production with diameter larger than 80.001 mm and 10% with diameters less
than or equal to 79.991mm.
a- Assuming shaft diameters are normally distributed, find the mean and
standard deviation of the production.
b- What percentage of production lies between 80.001mm and 79.99mm?
