i. Descriptive research is defined as a research method that describes the

characteristics of the phenomenon that is being studied. This methodology
focuses more on the “what” of the research subject. The situation stated thus
is a descriptive type of research as it mainly deals with finding more about the
type of quality circles and the areas in which it could be implemented.

ii. Casual research is effective in terms of identifying covariation between

variables but when it comes to identifying causality. Causal research helps
identify if there is a causal relationship between two or more variables. Here
we have the bank loan officer who wants to find more about the economy in
future i.e. forecasting future economic situation and thus it uses a
comparative analysis of time and the economy and hence it is a causal type
of research that is undertaken.
