class was a recent drawing. The assignment
asked us to take a landmark in downtown
Greensburg, draw it, and then use our
creative mind to fill in the surrounding area. I
looked out of the window in the arts building
and from there drew the bus garage. After
this part was done, I was free to draw
anything I wanted. This immediately allowed
me to use arts as a mode of expression
because I was in control of what was going to
be in the picture, and that is something that
made the class feel like less pressure but
more of creative freedom.
Demonstrate X I decided when it comes to demonstrating
leadership, leadership skills, I can say that I have met
negotiation, this skill. I am not one who particularly likes
relational, and to take the lead, but that does not mean I
consensus have not stepped up and taken the role when
skills I needed too. An example of this is when I
participated in presenting research. For this,
we were with a partner and asked to take a
look at a famous psychology case and discuss
the information we received from the study.
Here, I was paired with someone I was
unfamiliar with and I could tell that she was
shy working on this group project together.
While im not usually the one to jump up and
take lead, I knew if we wanted to get this
project done, I was going to need to take
some type of lead. Throughout the project,
we worked together to make negotiations on
the decisions that we were making and use
consensus skills to make the best choice
possible. This skill was used on multiple
occasions and projects that I have
participated in, here at Seton Hill and I feel I
have accomplished this goal.
Use X Being a college student, it is almost
technological impossible to make it through without using
skills to some type of technology. A lot of our classes
access require us to become familiar with
information, applications such as PowerPoint and Voice
organize Thread. To demonstrate my ability in meeting
knowledge, these skills, I thought back to a project
and completed in my Research and Applications
communicate psychology class. In this class, we were
paired up with a partner and asked to take a
look at a psychology case that has made a
major change in history. Following that, the
next part of the assignment asked us to use
technological skills to access information
based on the case we decided to do and put
together a power point. Within the project
and my PowerPoint, I was asked to gather
information and put them into slides.
Following this, I was organizing all of the
information and then practicing my
communication skills to discuss what I have
found. Another example of a time I used
technological skills is when I was in my
corrections class for Criminal Justice. In here,
one of our assignments was to study different
levels within the prison system. In order to
organize and communicate the information I
was able to obtain; I used a website called
Kahoot. This website allowed me to put
together a mini quiz, which my classmates
were able to take in order to test their
memory. I think I have been very successful
using technological skills.
Propose new X My time here at Seton Hill has really shown
solutions to me a lot of situations where I can offer new
current issues solutions to issues. A lot of my classes allow
me the chance for freedom of speech and
that can be useful for many. A time where I
proposed new solutions to current issues was
in my social psychology class. There was an
assignment called a social policy paper. This
assignment asked us to look at a social issue
that is going on in the world, bring attention
to it, and finally to add a suggestion for what
we believe would help in this situation. For
my paper, I took a look at children with
autism and how they learned in a classroom
that is more equipped for kids who are
considered normal. As one might guess, the
paper brought up many examples about the
way that children learn so we could
understand the differences. By doing my
research on a big issue, I was able to propose
new solutions to a pretty big issue and was
able to make new suggestions that could be
solutions for everyone who is in this learning
situation. Having used that example, we did
two papers thought the semester that were
just like this. My other paper also allowed me
to express ways to create solutions for
current issues, and by achieving this skill
more than once, I feel that I have met the
skill level here.
Express X Being a psychology major, it is important to
arguments or keep an open mind when it comes to
main points communication. This is something that has
clearly, in already been taught to us. An example of a
written and time I had to express in clear oral and written
oral communication was in my Intro to Psychology
communicatio class. In this class, we were given an
n assignment where we were told to look at
different psychology theories and research
done that may suggest two different sides.
We were told to then choose one side and
provide an argument for why we believed
that. In that situation, based upon the topic
we picked, we are being asked to discuss if
homosexuality is taught or something you are
born with. This is the best example I can think
of when it comes to providing an argument
with main points expressed clearly. This took
a look at a major debate and allowed us to
express an argument in clear communication.
We got to share with the class weather we
thought this behavior is something that is
learned or that people are born with.
Following this, the class was then going to
ask us questions about our side and try to
make a point about the other side. Without
expressing out argument clearly in oral
communication, our classmates might not
have understood the information we were
talking about and how we can to the
conclusion that we did.
Transfer X This skill I found to be a little puzzling. I was
knowledge not sure exactly of many examples where I
and values waited for a sound decision, until I
into sound remembered a paper I completed in my
decision- research and applications class. In this class,
making we were beginning to collect data and
understanding how to process it, which would
come in handy later for a different
assignment. In this example, we were to
come up with a question based off of
something easy such as the weather. With
this question, we would record the answers
achieved by our classmates and then
compare to what actually happens. This goes
to show that we had to take the knowledge
that we obtained from the survey we
completed and turn the information into an
educated guess. From there, we had to
compare the results and base them from fact
and not just the opinion of the participants.

Communicate X This I found to be an easy box for me to
in a second check off. Before I came to Seton Hill, I was

would be super important and beneficial to
me because there are many people out
there who are deaf that have a hard time
communicating with people, and if I could
be the one change in someone’s day, then I
must be doing something right. Moving
forward to being a member of Seton Hill, I
learned of the language requirement. After
seeing this I decided it would be best for
me to continue on with sign language
rather than learn something new. This
meant that I had to go back to community
college over the summer but at least I was
able to strengthen my skills and achieve a
new language. Although this was not
completed at Seton hill, I feel that it meets
the requirements of Communicating in a
second language at a college level.

During my time here at Seton Hill
global specifically this last semester, I am in a
interactions class called history of modern China. This is
from a variety the first class I feel I have taken that sticks

met it, but if I’m going to be honest with
myself, I know that that is not the case.
Being in this modern China class, we have
learned a lot about the history of China and
how their dynasties had formed. We have
also touched base on important impacts in
history, weather that be learning about the
Chinese war, or when China and America
began to trade. This class checks off the
category of geography as well, because we
know that China itself is a huge amount of
land and there are a lot of destinations on
this continent that we need to learn about
as well and this class is doing just that.
Another way that I feel this class has
checked the box on these skills is that our
class as a whole was able to download a
texting app, and our teacher had
communicated with a friend of his who is a
professor over in China and allowed us one
giant group chat. In here, we were able to
ask the students all kinds of questions
pertaining to history, geography, and
anything else we wanted. By having the
chance to interact in a way such as this, we
were able to have a different perspective
then what we already had. There is no
better insight than talking to someone who
may have experienced some of these
things firsthand.
Analyze X For this skill, I found it to only be fair in

skill is a class I took recently called
Christian Ethics. This class is a more
religion-based class, but it allows us to look
at historical events that have happened,
that may have a stronger connection
following spirituality and faith. An example
of me meeting this skill is when I wrote a
paper for this class. The paper was about
Welcoming the others. This meant that we
needed to read an article called What
would Jesus deconstruct and throughout
the article it spoke about historical events
that surround the knowledge of Jesus.
Within this, I was analyzing a topic that is
major in the religion side and because of
that, I was seeing the events through a side
of faith. That reveals things that I might not
have picked up on without this skill.
Assess X This skill is one that I feel I have met
privilege and exceptionally well. I decided that this was the
oppression appropriate choice for the fact of having wrote
from the papers regarding the difference in race class
perspective of and gender and it is a topic I felt passion for.

extensively about privilege and the difference
between races, classes, and gender. One time
in particular, we watched a video about a lady
who was treated differently because the color
of her skin. The story was talking about her
experience going to a school and the way that
people would look at her. By being given the
chance to think about this situation, I was able
to understand what exactly it means to access
one’s privilege and the different treatment
given based off of your gender, class or race.
This class allowed me a lot of opportunities to
understand how others go through their lives
on a day to day basis. It forced me to focus on
other perspectives rather than just my own and
with that, I am able to obtain the skill.

Generate and X I’ve decided that for this skill it was appropriate
analyze for me to say that I have partially met it. I
numerical and believe that it was only partially met because I
scientific data had a difficult time generating numerical data
when it was a part of an assignment. Math
subjects have always been more of a sore spot
for me, so I can at least say I tried my best
when it comes to handling data and worked
partially for the skill. An example of a time I
had to analyze numbers and scientific data is
when I was in my research methods class. Here
we were asked to create a poll that would then
be distributed to all members here at Seton
Hill. Following this, information was collected
anonymously, and those numbers were then
converted into data. After my data was
collected and analyzed, we then would look at
the scientific data provided from a test similar
to ours and compare the information. This
example fits perfectly into this skill set because
it directly had me analyzing information and
turning that information into numerical data.
By looking at the results from tests that were
previously conducted before, I was able to tap
into the scientific data and make conclusions
with those results.
Locate and X This skill to me goes back to my knowledge
analyze with psychology. In psychology, there can be a
expressive lot of book information that we learn, and not a
media to gain lot of other choices of media to use. For this, I
information or thought of a time I used media to comprehend
comprehend an issue of significance and I decided to talk
the about a paper I wrote for my Sports Psychology
significance of class. In this class, there was a paper
an issue or an assignment that asked us to look at a major
event media case and talk about the psychology
behind it. For my media case, I decided that I
was going to pick something that has extensive
coverage done on it, and that was the Aaron
Hernandez case. This case had a ton of
different media coverage, some being more
expressive than others, but it was a way in
order to get the information across. by using
this expressive media, I was able to
comprehend the information of such a detailed
case which then helped me to complete the
assignment at hand.
Organize and X Being able to manage a bunch of resources in
manage college is extremely important. There is a lot
resources in a more to college than just lectures and writing
creative way papers. For this example, I thought about a
to achieve project that I was working on for my
impact Corrections class in criminal Justice. In this
class we had an assignment that required us to
get into groups and come up with a gang
name. Following our gang name, we were
passed out papers with what was expected
from our group and then told to create them.
With the information achieved for this project, I
was able to organize and manage resources in
a way that would be interesting to others, while
also being able to express our gang and how
things would have been done. The creative
impact here comes in a way of allowing us to
dress as if we were all a part of a gang
together and bring in outside sources such as
videos and pictures in order to get a feel for
what it is like during a gang process. While this
assignment was just for fun and more of an
informative lesson, we were still asked to use
different ports of knowledge out there in order
to understand and mange this information for
others to learn about.
Find, X Being a psychology student, I have to write a
evaluate, and ton of papers. These papers were mostly based
apply off of prior research and knowledge that is
information already out there, so I always had a bunch of
sources for every assignment. The information
obtained from these sources is always
important and usually applied to whatever
assignment I am doing. An example of this skill
being completed is when I was in my intro to
psychology class. Here is where I began to
learn the proper way to find information as well
as how to apply it in a way that was not taking
the exact words from others. Throughout my
time in into to psychology, I was beginning to
learn the ropes and how to understand all of
the information. This class ultimately set me up
with what it means to evaluate information.
After I learned how to evaluate information, I
needed to know how to apply that in a way that
was my own words. Following this class, every
class after I had some type of information that
would require me to evaluate and apply the
information obtained.
Interpret X Similarly, to a previous skill, I only marked this
quantitative skill as a partial completion. I struggled when it
and came to understanding data as well as the
qualitative quantitative and qualitative information. Even
information to though I struggled with this skill, it does not
present a mean I did not meet the skill. I always apply
logical myself and do the best job I can, so
argument understanding and presenting an argument
based on about data was something I was going to
supporting accomplish as well. During my time in a class
data called research and applications, there were
many times that we were looking at
quantitative and qualitative information. There
was a simple assignment in this class that was
just this. We were asked to look at responses to
surveys that had responses both numerically
and through words. Following the looking at
this information, I was then asked to present an
argument based off of the results achieved and
compare which method is better. This
assignment allowed me to understand the
quantitative and qualitative information that I
was looking at and then answer logical
questions that come from supporting that data.
While I struggled with this, I was still successful
in completing the skill.

Demonstrate X Based off of reading this skill, I knew that I
ethical would be able to say that I had achieved this
decision- skill with met qualifications. What better class

grounded in decision making than through my ethics class.

inquiry really enjoy demonstrating ethical decision
making. A good example that comes to my
mind meeting this skill is when we were
provided with a story to read. The story was
about a man who committed a crime which
turned out to get violent, but the crime was to
be able to provide for his family. Following the
reading of this story, we were asked to decide
if what the man did was considered ethical or
not. In order to come to a decision for this
case, I was asked to demonstrate my ability to
make an ethical decision based off of
philosophical inquiry. This skill is one that is
easily going to stick with me throughout life.
Being able to make ethical decisions is
something important and that we face all of the
time. This class along with the assignment
have allowed me to achieve this skill fully.
Apply X This skill I have not had much experience with
Catholic so that is why I feel it to be partially met. I only
social really was able to get an understanding for
teaching to social teachings when I came into my senior
the analysis seminar class. During my time in this class, we
of have referred back to the catholic social
contemporar teaching’s multiple times. a time I found myself
y social recalling on this skill is when I did a project in
issues Senior Seminar called my Social Action Project.
I feel that this project is best for an example of
this because for our project specifically asked
us to use the catholic social teachings to create
a social action project. I was not really familiar
with the catholic social teachings, but when I
went to complete this assignment, it allowed
me to decide where to complete my volunteer
work that would allow me to use the social
catholic teachings I have learned, and apply
them to a social issue that is going on today.
Recognize X Moving forward with this skill, I did not take a
the value of lot of classes that focused more on a religious
diverse aspect, but I feel as if my time within those
spiritual and classes was still met with partial satisfaction. A
religious time that I recall valuing the diverse spiritual
perspectives and religious perspectives was in my
Contempary Christian ethics class. Throughout
this class, we were always looking at different
articles and relating them back to a religious
perspective. This class focused on a lot of
topics that are not always talked about such as
animals and what should happen to them
within the afterlife. This example right here
shows a time where I read an article and was
asked to decipher between the spiritual and
religious perspectives of what happens to an
animal once they pass. While this topic is one
that is a little more out there, it still meets the
requirements for different perspectives based
off religious and spiritual values.
Integrate the X This skill seemed to be a little confusing for me.

take a tour of Adelphoi. Now if you are not

living situation for kids with behavior problems.
Following out trip here, we were allowed to
have some communication with some of the
kids who attend this school, and within our
chance to communicate with them, we were
helping them with their outdoor rec time. This
is to me shows a glimpse of doing charity. The
purpose of the field trip was to gain information
about adelphoi and how they are running such
place, in order to try and keep troubled youth a
help them turn their lives around. It was just a
bonus that to me, this is a skill of justice that
allowed me to also practice and act with my
action of charity as well.
Exercise X Being a psychology major and always
responsible reviewing a bunch of research, I feel that it was
freedom and clear for me to say that I have met this skill
civic requirement. An example of this is when I was
engagement in a psychology class called Childhood
based on an adolescents. Based on what I believe this skill
informed is asking, I was able to achieve this is a way
value system during a time we were looking at a growth
chart. This chart showed the values and what
to expect when a child is hitting a new growth
mark. I believe by looking at this chart and
being allowed the chance to share my opinion,
I was able to engage in a responsible civic
engagement based on a value system. This
system stated what is to be expected at each
age category and allowed the freedom for our
input and a civil discussion as to if we are in
agree or not.
