management roles includes entrepreneurship, leadership, and strategy. For the most part most
make and unlimited difference to a workplace. To me entrepreneurship is one of the most
important roles of business management since it keeps discovering new ideas to implement to an
employment or a business. Many businesses that have improved their viewpoints have use many
entrepreneurs to act and create new ideas that would make their business more well-off.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 3
Introduction
This research will help me identify the positive or negative correlations that
entrepreneurship has with business success. I will be discussing my findings of my literature
review of my articles and other relevant information. The article examinations will predict if my
hypothesis is linked to their theories of information. In addition, to my findings I will include if
my variables entrepreneurship and business success have a relation to the business that I work
for has. The outcomes of this finding will indicate if my hypothesis was supported or rejected
overall. As a conclusion, I will recapitulate on my finding of this artifact with care and will pick
out the main points of this research that are significant to me and my organization because this
will help me identify fluctuations that are occurring within the company and further investigation
night help me generate knowledge to aid my company for the future.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is mostly described to introduce new skills, projects, information and
any type of new idea that can help a business resolve problem. They want to introduce this idea
to meet the needs of the company and find future desires. They want to create a system that will
give employees confidence to face new challenges created by them or their employer. They want
to create resources from innovative ideas from employees and team leaders and management
(Carpenter et al., 2012).
An entrepreneur is a person that engages in entrepreneurship. This action is not that
simple it is a process that they must go through and is not only imagining and coming up with a
new idea. They must undergo a procedure where they set the idea to action. According to
Carpenter, Bauer and Erdogan (2012) they believe that this division “is anticipating needs not yet
articulated by our global audience, then meeting them with products and services that set new
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 4
standards. This constant dissatisfaction with the way things is ultimately the driving force behind
the world’s best search engine” (Carpenter et al., 2012.p.26).
Entrepreneurs are those that produce new markets and modify the ones that are already
formed only find ways to renovate them. According to Carpenter, Bauer and Erdogan (2012)
“the greater the inconsistencies in existing service and quality, in lead times and in lag times, the
greater the vacuums and gaps in information and knowledge, the greater the opportunities”
(pg.26). The best way to describe this is people trying to find a remedy to a problem they are
facing. The goal is mainly to come up with an idea that is greater than the problem they must be
able to come up with the best solution to confront the situation and for the idea to be effective
(Carpenter et al., 2012).
Business Success
A successful business comes from many different perspectives. One important segment
of having a successful business is having a good organizational culture. This is important to a
successful business because it determines which type of personal you want to have in your
business and what types of people you would think is better off kept away. People that are well
trained are those who will set an example for those new and current employees in the business to
lead them into being a great employee not only just a good employee. Finding the perfect people
for your business that will make them feel comfortable and fit in (Carpenter et al., 2012).
Another important aspect of a successful business is preparing the mission, vision and the
values of the organization with your employees. They want to let their employees know what
they want to do, what their goals are and where they are wanting to go. The objective is to pass
this message to their employees and absorb the intentions of the business to everyone that is
working for the same team (Carpenter et al., 2012).
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 5
Communication in organization is important for the business to keep a good working
ethic and not lose focus. Communication among team members is the best option to be able to
communicate the P-O-L-C framework functions. This communication process is what going to
aid the company in achieving all their goals and coordinate all their plans and next procedures
(Carpenter et al., 2012).
Jp Nail Salon
I prepared an interview with Mr. Pham to discover the history, purpose, and investments
that pertained to opening Jp Nails Salon. The owner of the nail salon is a Vietnamese single man
named Dung Pham with one daughter whose name is Victoria. This nail salon initiated in 2013
with an initial investment of $30,000.00 that were invested in supplies for the nail salon that
included pedicure chairs, manicure tables, rolling chairs, wax equipment and supplies, acrylics,
nail tips and supplies for design (D. Pham, personal communication, February 26, 2020).
The purpose of this business is to care for client’s services of manicures, pedicures, body
waxing and acrylic nails. The first two years of the business was tough said Mr. Pham. The
income that the sail salon was only given back towards rent money, bills and supplies. Mr. Pham
worked the business alone for about one year (D. Pham, personal communication, February 26,
2020).
After he began to see more clients that was not able to manage every clients service, he
decided to hire one more Nail Technician. As he required hands he hired every time he
considered necessary. The shop initiated with four pedicure chairs and three manicure tables. The
shop kept the same amount of pedicure chairs for the limited amount of space of the shop, but
the total amount of manicure tables has grown to six tables. This is the seventh year of the
business and has a total of seven employees and looking to hire more personal. The total profit of
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 6
the business has increased from an annual income of $15,000 up to $95,000. It is in a stable and
generating profit after the third year of business when he noticed his monthly income (D. Pham,
personal communication, February 26, 2020).
Entrepreneurs are highly searched for in Jp Nails. We look to hire people that have a big
imagination and implement their vision and ideas to nails. Being a nail tech requires a big
imagination and entrepreneurship to keep up with trends that come out in social media. Women
have a naturally in entrepreneurship inside of them and have many ideas when it comes to nails.
Entrepreneurship and business success correlate to the variations that occur in my employment
(D. Pham, personal communication, February 26, 2020).
Local entrepreneur
This journal is about Gia Winfield which is a young entrepreneur woman that tuned the
nail business header over heels in New York City. She began in the nail business she was 14
years old until she was 18, she worked for a famous nail salon in New York. When she saw that
the shop had expired, she got motivated and looked forwards to opening her own nail salon.
While she was in business and constantly on the move, she always had to have coffee on hand
and came up with a brilliant idea to make an energy drink. It was a hard decision, yet she
managed to build a strong foundation towards a dream come true (Brown, 2018).
Shelby nails it
Amberly Martin a young entrepreneur who never imagined that she would become very
successful in a nail salon and by her 30th birthday realize that her dream has come true. She hid
the news from family, friends and others that she had a great news to share but she wanted it to
be a surprise for everyone. She hiddenly opened a nail salon where she invited everyone she

knew to come over for a breakfast when it was all a set up to announce her new business grand
opening (Orlando & Writer, 2019).
3D nail printers
21-year-old, Avery Anne Gervais is now living in China. Her idea was to generate a 3d
machine that could imprint any design to you nails. A 3D printer that could print on your nail a
logo, a design, a picture or any idea that comes to head could be printed in your nails. She
became an entrepreneur of nail art designing a machine that could paste a copy of whatever
image in your nails (Geiger, 2015).
Queen of shades
Tina Winters was a Nail Technician that could identify herself with Anastasia Steele
from the book 50 shades of grey. Turned her future around when she decided to open her own
lingerie shop and website where she is a dedicated entrepreneur that dedicated her life to be a
nail technician. She is now launching Britain’s first 50 Shades of Grey specialized business and
online store where she sells fetish wear for women over 30 years (Vonledebur, 2012).
Nailing it
This is a business that is turning the nail world by demonstrating entrepreneurs of the nail
business having a brand-new idea towards acrylic nails. The plan is to create a nail that would
use only 40 percent of the total material that is now required to make a nail set. The ideas are to
use wood fibers to nails that split instead up pushing them out (Gordon, 2007).
7 ways to increase nails revenue
In this article they explain new ideas that could be used in a nail salon to increase clients
coming in winter times and in seasonal changes. Number one is to add a combo that includes
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 8
manicure and pedicure. Number two is to include a hot chocolate or heated booties to those
clients that want a pedicure during the winter times. Number three is to add a bootie acupressure
foot massage to your pedicures that last 15 more minutes that could be charged separately. The
fourth recommendation is creating little gift bags that contain the business logos and imprint
them in the files and buffers for clients to take home after a service. The last advice they give is
to give a bottle nail polish for the client to take home after the service. This might generate an
excitement on the clients end and impulse them to come back for another service (Rickette,
2018).
Sources findings
What I found in the sources mentioned was that a great role has been played on
entrepreneurs becoming extremely successful and joining the nail business. These new business
owners have managed to come up with new ideas that have other people interested in their
creation and have become very successful within their entrepreneurship businesses.
I have also understood that business owners that risk and implement new ideas to their
business become a hit and clients keep coming back for business. They like that little treat or a
little gift made them feel special and that little detail is what makes people content and
recommend you to others. We have started recently giving clients treats and having gestures with
them and it seems to be working in keeping clients content and wanting to come back or another
service. We have continuously tried to integrate new ideas and find ways that can help the
business grow.
The variables that I picked were related to my business because they explain to details all
the details to their success in the nail business and being an entrepreneur. They have identified
new ideas and played the cards with no fear and this is something that helps me understand that
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 9
business have to take risky moves that might take a chance to loose but may also have a great
advantage if the change benefits the business.
Jp Nails business did adapt to upcoming changes and is still constantly changing. Jp Nails
was originally a Vietnamese shop and is not made up of Hispanic women. We not necessarily
change work rules or objectives. We mainly change in techniques and the way we run the shop.
It functions by seasons. With each season we change the design and colors of the patters of nails.
If the weather is cold, clientele stops getting pedicures and incline more towards acrylic nails and
manicures.
Jp Nails employees did adapt to the various ways of communication that we are exposed
to. Our boss is a Vietnamese and all the employees are Hispanics that are primarily Spanish
speakers. We have different ways and techniques to work. Sometimes communication is an issue
because my boss tried to communicate a message and mostly disagrees with everyone’s ideas.
Communicating was an issue when I first began to work for him. As I accumulated years’
working with him, I got to know his ways to manage and to communicate with his employees.
I have become like a manager to the shop by communicating my ideas an offering him
my opinions in some decisions from the shop, so this has helped me in this career as well to
accumulate clientele. I don’t agree that the company has been affected with the changes that we
have been making in a negative way. We have seen many new faces and walk-ins in a daily basis
and that is great sign to a successful future.
The articles that I found were very useful to my topic since they gave me new ideas that
we can implement in our business to better future services. It certainly supported my hypothesis
in totality. I now believe that entrepreneurship has a direct relationship with business success.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SUCCESS 10
The articles that I reviewed all of them turned out to become very successful entrepreneurs with
a vision and an idea that suddenly arose and worked for them in a very positive way.
Summary
As a conclusion to my findings of this artifact I understood that entrepreneurs in the nail
business can become very successful and profitable. There are many opportunities and ideas out
there to strive for and all it takes is a motivation and a dream to push that idea forwards towards
the world to see. Six out of the six articles that I have revised turned out to be successful
businessmen and women and supported my hypothesis perfectly. Entrepreneurs can help a
business grown and become successful. I just think that businesses need to be open and accept
new ideas from their employees and others that wish to include an idea. It never hurt the business
to try something new and its motivating to employees to be able to feel part of the organization
in recognizing an idea of someone and to finally see how prosperous that idea can become
towards the success of the whole team and company. As a future leader I would use this
information to give my employees the opportunity to show their skills and demonstrate what
ideas they could bring to the business. I would give my employees the chance to glow and grow
and keep their opinions and ideas on hand to use as needed. I am a true believer that two heads
are better than one. I am positive that entrepreneurs are the future of the world and that they are
who make businesses successful.
