Debate Prep for Students

The document provides a template for students to brainstorm arguments for and against several debate propositions. It includes charts for students to fill in reasons and evidence for both affirmative and negative stances on whether certain acts make a person irredeemable, if human nature is inherently evil, if suffering builds resilience, and if individuals have a duty to defend others' rights. The document serves as preparation for debates.

Debate Brainstorm

It is important for all of you to consider the pros and cons to each side of these debates. Today, you
will spend time gathering your initial thoughts as a group, as well as determining which propositions
you prefer.
On this document, fill out the chart as best as you can on both sides of the argument. Try to come up
with both REASONS to defend each side as well as EVIDENCE to defend each reason (from Night,
The Book of Job, and/or real-life). This brainstorm will serve as good preparation.
