5 Defining The Test Configuration: 5.1 General Approach

The document recommends a 3 step approach to defining the test sequence of active protective functions in an operator control center (OCC): 1) Test functions using only voltage measurements, 2) Test functions using only current measurements, 3) Test functions using both voltage and current measurements. It also notes that test modules in the OCC can be organized into folders to structure the test document.

5 Defining the Test Configuration

5.1 General Approach

When defining the test sequence of the active protective functions in the OCC, the following
steps are
recommended.
· Step 1: Testing the protective functions which only use voltage measurements (e.g.
voltage,
frequency, etc.).
· Step 2: Testing the protective functions which only use current measurements (e.g. OVL,
DIFF,
I2, etc.).
· Step 3: Testing the protective functions which use voltage and current measurements (e.g.
reverse power, underexcitation, etc.).
In the OCC the test modules can be summarized in folders (groups) to structure the test
document.
