RELATED EXPERIENCE
Afternoon Teacher, KINDER ACADEMY JULY 2018 – PRESENT
SIOUX FALLS, SD
• I have worked with children from infants to school age at this daycare.
When I am with the older kids responsibilities include keeping them
entertained with activities and making sure that they are all safe.
• The main room I work in now is infants. Here there are a lot of
responsibilities as I usually have five infants ages six months to one
year olds. The responsibilities that go along with this room are changing
diapers, making bottles, naps, and maintaining happy babies.
After School Program Staff, COMMUNITY CENTER AUGUST 2016 – PRESENT

• At ASP I was to make sure all children were signed in right when they
walked through the doors to make sure everyone was there. We then had
three different rotations for them to go through: snack, gym, and reading
a book. There was then an hour period where students would either
make a craft, play minute to win it games, or participate in a gym game. I
was always part of the craft room where I helped to come up with ideas
and manage what children were doing.

• I started off working in the two-year-old room for the first three years I
was there. This was my favorite age as this was when children started to
talk a lot more and they are able to listen and follow a little better. In this
room the big responsibility was potty training and making sure that we
went to the bathroom every hour.
• For the past two summers I have been working in the school age room
as the lead teacher. We leave the building for field trips twice a day, once
in the morning and then again after lunch. I help organize activities and
trips for the kids. The biggest responsibility here is making sure that we all
stick together so that no one gets left behind. This is where I have learned
a lot about management and making procedures to keep the kids safe. As
the head teacher I was the person who had to talk to parents if there were
any issues or to give out any reminders.

SKILLS SUMMARY
Technology Skills: Video Creations (Adobe Spark, iMovie, Green Screen, Osmos). I have
used all of these tools in my classes at DSU. I have experience with making videos on
Adobe Spark where I can present information. I also have experience with using a green
screen to change the background and then putting that into iMovie to edit the footage.
These are things that I could use to make videos for my students to watch if I ever
decided to try teaching through a pre-made video.
Assessment Tools: (Quizizz, Flipgrid, Kahoot, Edpuzzle). These are all different tools that
I have used in my student teaching. I have found that students love to participate in
activities like these instead of paper sheets.
Other tools that I have used include Canva, Piktochart, and Osmos. Canva is an
awesome website that can be used to make posters or flyers that I may need for parents
or for my classroom. I have used it to send home information to parents, as it is super
easy to create and fill with visuals. I love integrating technology into classrooms as there
is so much you can do with it. Osmos has multiple apps that can be used for iPads that
allow students to work hands on with little discs that the camera can pick up.
