The creative curriculum notes and analysis
assignment
Notes:
There are five fundamental principles:
Positive interaction with adults.
Social emotion competence: it’s significant for the school success.
Play: play and learning material going into different center for children to
explore.
Physical environment: it’s a set up for the child.
Parent teacher partnership: the importance of building a relationship.
We as teacher need to know how children develop and learn in school. We
will do this by observation and assessments. Our learning environment is
very important for us and our children. The environment provides children
opportunity to decide if they want to work solo, small or large group. We
have goals and objective of what us teacher would like to see in our
students. Us teacher play major roles in every child’s life. We need to be
considered of every child in the classroom. To help them with their learning
style and to engage them. And the family’s roles are just as important also.
The family helps us with the child and with our curriculum. We should always
be on the same page with the parents and consider their ideas and input.
The classroom has six different section that can help you with your set up for
children’s learning. Here’s a list of the different parts in the classroom:
Art: is an area that’s warm, comfort and safe for children. Everything should
be child’s level with different material for the children to engage with. Art
gives children the opportunity to express themselves and exploring.
Blocks: this area provides children the chance to hold, build and create. The
shelves are placed to protect the builders. The floor is smooth and soft to
make it easy to build on. Blocks incorporate math with measurement and
space awareness.
House corner: this area develop imagination, creative, role playing and
recalling stories. This area also build connection to real life experiences.
Table toy: the teacher can observe children easier in this center. And there is
opportunity where you can help them with problem solving.
Sand and water: this center have natural materials inside of it for children to
build sensory skills. The child will learn to share ideas in this area.
Library corner: this is a warm and welcoming are for children to go into. The
books inside of this center is ones that will meet children’s interest.
All these areas set the stage for learning and integrating different subjects
together. And as teachers we can plan intentional through our centers.

Analysis:
I learn that it’s important to plan intentional with the centers and careful
about the material inside of the areas. I plan to build a good connection with
the families to help the child have a success place in the class. By
incorporating their ideas with mines, I can meet the child’s needs. I will
encourage the child to believe in themselves and help them feel safe in the
classroom. I learn that through play I can help the children with their social
emotion development. I plan to embrace each child as they meet different
milestones throughout the time in the classroom. I plan to ask open-ended
questions to help understand the children’s needs and interest. My focus will
be on material the interest the child and help with their development.
Integration is very important for me when it comes to lesson plans. I learn
that every center can include language arts and math. With the appropriate
learning standards, I can have a purposeful learning lesson that can be
integrated. Things I will consider for the child is goals, objective and their
skill develop. I will document and observe the children to make the right
assessment for everyone in the classroom. I will learn to let the child be
independent and ensure them that I can assist them if needed. I plan to
make sure all my centers are engaging to the children. I want to be
challenging the children and providing them areas that are welcoming. I will
have child level shelves and furniture in the different centers. I learned it’s
important to label the shelves and have things the reflect child’s home lives.
I will alternate props in most centers. I want the children to be able to
explore and experiment in my classroom. I will make sure my noise area is
not next to my quiet area. In my block area I plan to have the different size
and shapes displayed on the shelves so children. My house corner area will
have dress clothes along with house props inside. Benefits of the house
corner is the children learning how to get along and how to express
themselves. I will make sure my table area props provide moments to
problem solving. I would love to put an easel for the children to explore
emotions, colors and texture. I plan to be flexible in all my areas and my
classroom so my children can be successful. I decide to incorporate outdoor
lesson plan and props in my everyday classroom. This assignment brought a
lot of awareness to the centers and the benefit developments for children. I
learned not only the benefits but the importance of child/family relationship
and how to integrate different subjects. We as teacher must build bonds,
develop skills for the children and create a safe/warm environment.
