Human Body

The document provides an overview of several human body systems: The circulatory system transports nutrients, oxygen, waste and more around the body using blood and blood vessels. Blood contains red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. The skeletal system provides structure and protection to the body with bones, ligaments and cartilage. It also enables movement through tendons connecting muscles to bones. The muscular system consists of three muscle types and enables body movement by connecting to bones via tendons. The respiratory system intakes oxygen through breathing and distributes it into the bloodstream via the lungs while removing carbon dioxide waste. The nervous system communicates information through the brain, spinal cord and nerves

Circulatory System

The circulatory system distributes nutrients,

oxygen, waste etc. Around the body to keep
organs alive and fight diseases. There are four
types of blood cells; red blood cells carrying
oxygen, white blood cells that are part of the
immune system, platelets that create scabs and
plasma fluid carrying blood cells nutrient and
waste.

Skeletal system
The skeletal system supports our bodies and
protects vital organs such as the heart and brain. A
baby has around 300 bones, in an adult these
bones fuse to make around 206 bones. These
bones are held together with ligaments and are
protected by cartilage. Our skeleton also helps us
move through tendons that connect muscle to
bone.

Muscular System
The main job of the muscular system is to
provide movement for the body. The muscular
system consists of three different types of
muscle tissue;

Respiratory System
The main function of the respiratory system is to
supply blood with oxygen to be taken to all parts
of the body. The oxygen enters the body through
the nose or mouth where it is then passes through
the larynx an trachea. From there the trachea
splits into two smaller tubes called the bronchi
tubes. The tubes then split into smaller tubes
called the bronchioles. The bronchioles then carry
the oxygen down to the alveoli where it is put into
the blood stream. The old oxygen that has become
carbon dioxide is exhaled.
Nervous System
The nervous system is a network of cells that
communicate about itself and its surroundings.
The brain processes this information and causes
a reaction in other parts of the body. It is split up
into two main systems, the central nervous
system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system
(PNS). In the CNS are the brain and spinal cord
that collect information about the body and
cause reactions. PNS is made up of all the nerves
and wiring, it sends messages to the CNS and
spreads messages from the brain to the rest of
the body.
Integumentary System
The Integumentary system, formed by the skin,
hair, nails etc. Protects the body from the
outside world. It regulates the body temperature
, makes the inner body aware of the outer
environment , protects the body from diseases
and illnesses and produces vitamin D. The
system is the largest and most visible organ in
the body .

Urinary System
The urinary system removes waste from the
blood and passes it out as urine. The kidneys
filter the blood and take out the waste which is
then taken down the ureters. From there the
waste is stored in the bladder until it is full. The
waste then gets taken out of the body through
the urethra.
