For Example, in An Exam Situation:: Stimulae

The document discusses the Roy Adaptation Model and its key concepts. It describes three types of stimuli that can affect a person's adaptation: focal, contextual, and residual. Focal stimuli are the primary sources of concern, contextual stimuli influence the focal stimuli, and residual stimuli are from past experiences. The model also outlines four modes of adaptation - physiological, self-concept, role function, and interdependence. The goal of nursing according to this model is to promote adaptation in each of the four modes by modifying, reducing, or eliminating stimuli that challenge a person's adaptation.

For example, in an exam situation:

 focal - fear or anxiety related to failure

 contextual- noise, people talking ( these things will affect focal stimuli because it

affects focal

 residual - previous failure affects your belief on how you are going to do on this

exam

For example, a client going to an operation

- perceptual processing

- learning

- judgement

Perception links cognator and regulator mechanisms.

Adaptive responses- promote integrity of person, in terms og foinf back and maintaining growth and
