BEING A COLLEGE STUDENT VS BEING A HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENT
It is a bit early to give a good description on the differences between the life of a
college student versus a high school, but there are always those differences that you can
notice right away when you start or even before starting.
The ones that you start thinking about when you start senior year in high school are
those ones that hurt you the most, you are not going to be with your friends anymore, your
teachers are not going to be the same, you have to study a lot more, you are going to be alone
for a long time until you meet more people, or you get to meet your new classmates, you are
going to have less time for yourself or less time to spend with your friends or doing the things
that you like the most, like enjoying your hobbies.
You have a hard decision choosing what are you going to study, you have to think a
lot if you are going to like that, or if that career is really what you are looking for, so you
really need to spend your last year in high school discovering yourself that way you can learn
a lot of new things that you maybe did not know you liked, or you discover that of all the
things you like doing, there are some that you do not like any more like you use to do before
when you were younger or a little kid.
As a college student you encounter yourself with a totally different environment since
you are alone more time, since you do not have your parents behind you like before, your
teachers are not always reminding you of every work you have, you need to learn how to
manage your schedule, your times, there are no bells anymore to control when you have to be
in class, or when you have to be back from the recess.
Now you need to try and find a job, in case you do not have the monetary support
from your parents like you did in high school. There are a lot of books that you need they can
generate big expenses.
If you do not have the necessity of having a job maybe you have to much time free so
you need to try and find an extra outside study, maybe try to transform one of your hobbies
into a professional work.
This is of course an optional thing to do, in many cases, you already have a job,
because you had a late start in college, so you need to leave a bit early your work to get to
your classes on time. That is a really important item to have in mind.

Talking about the life in general, this is going to be a really stressful life, full of
frustrations, a lot of deadlines that you have to meet for homework, this is a lot more work
than high school is not going to be easy.
But in the end your effort will bring rewards, just do not give up.
