INTRODUCTION ACCESSORIES

Extra Co is a leading manufacturer of GRP Sectional Hot Press Panel Tanks for water storage that has ensured,

since its establishment in year 1981, a consistent emphasis on health, safety and cusomer satisfaction, by using

state of the art technology in GRP Panel Design and Production. ROOF STIFFENER IN GRP

The long life, maintenance free performance of Extra Co Hot Press Panel Tanks, gives it an edge over other types

TANK PANELS NEW VENTURE

Extra Co’s Hot Press Panel Tanks are engineered for high
performance and tested to the highest requirements of BS and ASTM
standards. Qualified Engineers and craftsmen operate an in-house SMC
(Sheet Moulding Compound) and hot press moulding facilities, ensuring
a total control for all manufacturing stages, starting from procurement of
raw materials, engineering, production, right through to final
commissioning and installation.

SECTION A-A What is SMC

SECTION B-B SECTION C-C SECTION D-D SMC means Sheet Moulding Compound, built up of resin, glass fibres,
catalysts and fillers. In the line of production, a semi finished sheet is first
produced, then moulded under heat and pressure and cured to give the
hot pressed end-product. These panels are non-toxic and hygienic for
water storage and have many advantages over cold press techniques,
especially vis-a-vis toxicity, opacity and consistency of materials.

Extra Co’s high quality GRP water storage tanks meet the requirement
of ASTM D 3841-92 and BS 7491. The benefits of storing potable water in
GRP tanks have now been recognised and we are very pleased to see our
tanks being widely used in residential, commercial, industrial and in public
SIDE PANEL DRAIN PANEL ROOF & BOTTOM PANEL work sectors in the country. We are also experiencing an increase in the
export to other countries in the Gulf, Middle East & Africa, where the
1000 consciousness of hygienic storage of potable water is growing. We are
committed to a continuous programme of product development and
testing in order to serve the needs of our valued customers and clients.

INSULATION Properties of Insulation (Polyurethane)

Extra Co produces insulated panels to meet the Density 38 to 40 Kg/m3
temperature extreme of the gulf and tropical regions. Thermal Conductivity 0.018 to 0.020 kcal/m/hr/Cº
Insulation thickness (as desired) is positioned in between
Closed cells 90 to 95 %
the GRP single panel and GRP cover. These panels are
used for the side and roof of the tanks. Air layer exists Operation Temperature -60ºC to + 80ºC
between the roof and the water level, which itself acts as a
Insulation Thickness 25mm, 40mm and 50mm
thermal insulation.
