Main Functionalities of MS Excel:


 Conditional formatting: It offers a different way of visualizing data because it allows
to apply rules to its cells which will add formatting such as color coding based on the
cells value.
 Pivot table: It is special excel tool that allows to summarize and explore data. After
creating the pivot table huge number of rows and columns can be transformed into
meaningful and well formatted report.
 Comparison between data’s: Excel offers numerous style of charts and graphs where
we can compare, analyze and visualize the data’s graphically.
 Sorting and Filtering: In excel spreadsheet data’s can be arranged logically by
ascending and descending order. And data’s can be also filtered to find and work with
a subset of data in a range.
 Built-in formulas: There are various formulas in MS excel which are used for
summation, average, minimum etc. One of the best feature of these formulas are the
results will be edited automatically if any changes occur.

2. MS PowerPoint:

Microsoft PowerPoint is a software that generally uses a graphical approach presenting


content with the help of textboxes, images to convey proper explanation while presenting a
topic.
Main features of MS PowerPoint:

 Different type of chart, graphs, images, videos, smart shapes and tables can be added
to the slides to make the slides more informative.
 In PowerPoint presentation animation to the object can be inserted such as entrance
animation or exit animation, emphasis on important objects.
 Numerous theme options for the presentation is available on PowerPoint.
 Slide transition is also used for making the slides less monotonous.
 Hyperlink can be added to a slides according to the user.
 MS PowerPoint has an option to share the presentation online by inviting a particular
person or via mail. The presentation file can also be printed out.
3. MS Word:

MS word is a software that helps to prepare documents, reports by proving a wide variety of text
management features. This word processing tool offers the user to format the text, store and print
the documents. Another interesting factor in MS Word is spell check, it allows user to check the
spelling and grammar and gives the solution also. Furthermore, there are various options for
formatting text. User can change the color, align the text, and modify the style. Other than that,
like other office software MS Word is also able to insert graphs, images, as well.

3. MS Access:

MS Access is actually a database management system (DBMS) which is an application of the


Microsoft Office suite. It can also be used as relational database management system (RDBMS).
Purpose:
Its main purposes are data organization, data storage and data retrieval. It also helps in data
manipulation and data control.

4. Basic features of MS Outlook:

 Intra company communication through e-mail.


 Sending attachment with e-mails.
 Archiving e-mails in .PST format.
 Scheduling a meeting, suggesting meeting rooms and event location.
 Assigning task and the tenure of the task.
 Scheduling an e-mail at future time and/or date.
 Multiple time zone feature.
 Reminders like bill pay.
 Maintaining a phonebook or organizational directory details.
 RSVP or scheduling an appointment feature.
 Seeing peoples status whether they are busy, free or in a meeting.
 BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) feature where the recipient’s e-mail ID will be hidden
from the recipients in “To’ or “CC”.
 Creating rules and alerts to move e-mails to specific folders.
 Categorize e-mails with color coding.
