ACTIVITY 1

Construct an essay on what is their view about a good leader, leadership, and what makes a good
leader; and do they consider themselves as a leader, why or why not. Cite examples on what is
leadership and what is a leader.

A good leader inspires other people and influencing them to be committed on a certain goal, inspiring
them to strive for the goal and to maximize the effort needed in their task to achieve the goal. A leader
must have the trust of his followers, and for the followers to give their trust the leader must be worthy
of their trust for the goal he is striving is achievable and also a leader molds his followers to become
better and teach them to be a good leader because someday one of his followers might be a leader too.

Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the
achievement of a goal. It is an art of motivating and inspiring people towards the common goal.
Leadership is to take your followers from where they are to where they have not been and always put in
mind that your followers is always your key to success for achieving your goals because they are the
ones who can help you achieving it.

What makes a good leader? A good leader posses a clear vision, is courageous, has integrity, honesty,
humility and clear focus. Great leaders help people reach their goals, are not afraid to hire people that
might be better than them and take pride in the accomplishments of those they help along the way.

Do they consider themselves as a leader, why or why not? I don’t think so, for me some may do, some
may not. But my answers is no, because just like if leaders really do possess humility they wouldn’t think
of being superior from his followers, because leaders must treats himself also as a followers for they are
achieving the same goal.

Cite examples on what is leadership and what is a leader.

Offering support and coaching to less experienced colleagues is an example of leadership.
to act in a way that shows others how to act when it comes to hard work, she chooses to lead by
example and that is an example of leader.

ACTIVITY 2
1. We often hear of some leaders are task-oriented or goal-oriented and others are people-oriented.
As a leader, if you have to choose between people or purpose, what will you choose? Of course, real-
life leadership is not so clearly defined in terms either or and in reality, a compromise is possible. But
for the sake of discussion, what will you choose? Why?
I would choose the purpose, because if your mission has a very amazing purpose when it’s achieved you
can easily persuade the people in your surroundings to come along with your mission when they have
known that your mission has a lot to help or to do to many things as you will accomplish it with their
help or cooperation.

2. During this time, enhanced community quarantine, who would you consider a leader and why?
I consider our President Rodrigo Duterte as our leader because despite of how old he is he continues to
make this country flourishing, prosperous and progressive. During this quarantine he is our leader
because he implements everything just to assure our safety to stop the spread of the contagious virus.
He the president of this country is our leader, you see his government gives a subsidy to help all his
constituents to not be starved and even donated his salary as an additional fund to help more of his
people. But wait, he is really a good leader, but how can he achieve the goal of eradicating this
widespread virus if his people doesn’t obey the rules he implements. For the goal to be achieved
everyone must cooperate with the leader. He has a high concern regarding the Filipino People despite of
all the criticisms, censures, condemns all coming from his own countrymen he never abandon this
country.

ACTIVITY 3
Pick 5 Filipino leaders that possess the qualities of a good leader and write their accomplishments/
achievements on why you consider them as a good leader. Explain why you’ve chosen them as a good
leader.

Melchora Aquino - Integrity.

More than just a road in Quezon City, Tandang Sora, whose real name is Melchora Aquino, was fondly
called the Mother of the Revolution. She was a single mother who managed the farm left by her
deceased husband while raising her six children. Tandang Sora earned her nickname after taking care of
Andres Bonifacio and other Katipuneros in 1896, risking her life as she provided them with food and
nursed the wounded. Her bravery was best displayed after she was arrested by Spanish authorities, who
subjected her to grueling interrogations in hopes that she would reveal the location of the Katipunan
hideout. She refused to give in and was deported to Guam under the decree of Governor General
Ramon Blanco.

Ferdinand Marcos – Confidence, Commitment and Passion, Creativity and Innovation.

As a president, he helped improve the infrastructure of the Philippines. He was also good at
international diplomacy. He was probably the best and most intelligent and smartest president of the
Philippines and many preferred his autocratic rule with iron fist.

Jose Rizal - Empathy, Inspire Others, Humility, Decision Making Capabilities, Vision and Purpose.
He inspired a lot of Filipinos by the use of this writing to fight against the Spanish Government. He may
not be a part of planning or fighting in the front lines, he lead the people using his excellence in writing
which eventually led to Philippine Independence. He inspired Bonifacio with his writings and enlightens
every Filipino People that they have to fight for their rights as this is their own motherland. Rizal is may
be the one who initiated the revolution.

Emilio Aguinaldo - Commitment and Passion, Empathy.

Revolutionary leader Emilio Aguinaldo was born on March 22, 1869, in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines. In
1898, he achieved independence of the Philippines from Spain and was elected the first president of the
new republic under the Malolos Congress. He also led the Philippine-American War against U.S.
resistance to Philippine independence. Aguinaldo died of a heart attack on February 6, 1964, in Quezon
City, Philippines.

Andres Bonifacio – Inspire Others, Vision and Purpose, Integrity.

The Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or KKK played a huge role
in the revolt of the Filipinos against the Spaniards. In the center of that revolution was its founder,
Supremo Andres Bonifacio.Through the KKK, Bonifacio was able to unite eight provinces in pursuing
independence and freedom. The provinces of Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Manila, Bulacan, Tarlac,
Pampanga and Nueva Ecija now represent the eight rays of the sun on the Philippine flag.
He fought for our independence and freedom. He showed that great things can be achieved if people
work together towards the same goal. Andres Bonifacio is the epitome of courage and perseverance –
traits that Filipinos are still known for. His heroism filled the hearts of his men then, and it should fill
ours today
