these life events. Unlike a profile, a biography presents a subject's
life story, highlighting various aspects of his or her life, including
intimate details of experience, and may include an analysis of the
subject's personality.
Autobiography:
An autobiography is the story of a person’s life written by that
person. Because the author is also the main character of the story
The purpose of an autobiography is to portray the life experiences
and achievements of the author. Therefore, most autobiographies
are written later in the subject’s life
Similarities between biography and autobiography is that they both
written about a person’s life. Also the historical facts in a person’s
life. They are generally written in chronological order.

A biography:
Is the story of a person’s life
Is generally written by a person who did an in-depth study of
someone else’s life
Can be written with or without the consent of the subject
Is based on facts about the subject’s life
Is usually written in third person

An autobiography:
Is the story of one’s own life
Is generally written by (or with the help of) the subject matter
Is usually written in first person
Is based on facts about the subject’s life
Can also include the subject’s thoughts and feelings about the

behind the subject’s actions
