Course Description

The National Service-Training Program is based on Republic Act 9163 or the National Service Training
Program (NSTP) Act which was signed into law in 2001 and which seeks to “promote civic consciousness among the
youth” and develop “their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being.” It also inculcates in the
youth “patriotism, nationalism, and advance their involvement in public and civic affairs.”
To achieve this, students are provided with opportunities to respond to the needs of marginalized sectors
of society through their particular academic disciplines or fields of interest. It also aims to involve students in
activities that would deepen their knowledge of themselves, help them become more spiritually free and
conscientious in making their life-choices, and respond to the call of finding God in all things.
