Leg Markings
Most of us know that this is called a sock, but horse's leg
markings are a little bit more complex than that!
To correctly and accurately describe leg markings, we describe where on the leg they reach up
to....so the correct description for the picture above is “white to half cannon”

One other marking you may have noticed on
white legs is some black spots within the white
– these are called ermine marks (or ermine spots).
