Some Sutras/Rules which are already shared in discussion are:
Nadi Sutas: 1
Fundamentals of Nadi Astrology: "Planetary Mutual Exchange"
Planetary Mutual Exchange is an important fundamental of Nadi Astrology, which is given
much importance. This Exchange can be of two types:
1. At Sign Level and
2. At Nakshatra Level.
Sign Exchange is effective only for 7 Planets (not to Rahu & Ketu), while at Nakshatra
Level...Planetary Exchange is effective for all Planets.
At broad level, Sign/Nakshatra Level... Planetary Exchange can alter the results/ conditions
... what is shown by only Natal position of Planets in horoscope. In general, after
Sign/Nakshatra Level Exchange, Planets being considered in own Signs/Nakshatras, are
supposed to be benefic & strong (being in own Sign).
Nadi Sutas: 2
Fundamentals of Nadi Astrology: "Progression Theory"
There are some very important basic fundamentals of Nadi Astrology. The next
Fundamental of Nadi Astrology is: "Progression". The term "Progression" is very
common in Western Astrology. In modern Vedic Astrology, Progression is not dealt at big
level, but in Nadi Astrology… Progression is a Basic fundamental. Further, “Progression
Theory” is the supplementary/lost/forgotten part of Predictive Modern Vedic Astrology in
practice now a day.
Progression is very broad term and holds further sub-division. Some common versions are:
1. Jupiter's Progression
2. Venus’ Progression
3. Saturn's Progression
4. Rahu's Progression
5. Ketu's Progression etc.
6. Cyclic Order Progression
7. Moon’s Progression (As Vimshottri Dasa)
8. Sudarshan Chakra* based Progression
9. Gulika Progression* etc.
Jupiter takes 12 years (approx.) to transit among 12 Signs, Saturn takes 30 years (approx.)
and Rahu takes 18 years (approx.). Sun takes 1 year among 12 Signs. “Cyclic Order
Progression” term, in general, is used for Jupiter's Progression. Further, there is one more
division of Cyclic Progression where 12 years duration is governed by 1 specific Planet.
Further, next type Progression, which I purposed earlier is: Triple Transit (for Retro
Planets).
Nadi Sutas: 3
Fundamentals of Nadi Astrology: Progression Jupiter (1)
In Nadi Astrology, Planet's Progression is given utmost importance. Jupiter is one of Key
Planet and its Progression is key tool to judge to events. Transit Jupiter takes 1 year
(approx) to travel a Sign and Whole Zodiac is traversed in 12 Years (approx). This 12 year
duration is known a "One Cycle". So, on an average, considering 12 yrs*10 Cycles =120
years human age periods ...10 Cycles can be completed by Jupiter in maximum (in
general). Here, important point to note that... same things/events will not get repeated after
each 12 year's Cycle. Other Planets also Progress in same way with different durations.
Also, 1st cycle of 12 years (from Birth to age of 12 years) is ruled by Moon.
Why Moon rules 1st cycle. Moon is Karka of:
* Mother and
* Nourishment
The age period from Birth to the age of 12 years is basically governed/ supervised by
Mother and other family members. Here, native is mainly dependent of his/her mother for
Food, Nourishment, Safety and Survival.
So, the 1st cycle of 12 years duration is mutually ruled Jupiter (Jeeva Karka i.e. Life, itself)
and Moon (Mother). So, Moon's condition is Vital Factor.
Also, Moon is Key Player in Panchang ..... So Moon’ dependent factors:
* Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karna and other features need a close attention.
Nadi Sutas: 4
Fundamentals of Nadi Astrology: Progression Jupiter (2)
Jupiter + Moon: Ruler of 1st Cycle (1st day to 12 years duration)
Jupiter is Jeeva (or the native himself) and Moon is his Mother. A native needs in
childhood: Nourishment, Encouragement, Support & Protection. Also, this Cycle governs
“Primary Teaching”. Like now a day... Schooling starts @ 2+ Years age onward....but in
olden days...when Gurukulas were in practice.... Education took start at the age of 8 to 12
years onward. Further, the 12th year is important to note because… it’s the last year of the
1st Cycle. The 13th year onward, 2nd Cycle starts which is governed by Mercury (Karka of
Education) up to the age of 24 years. So, 1st Cycle..... Jupiter and Moon need close
attention.
Moon is fastest moving Planet....that transits all 12 Signs within 28 Days (approx.). Moon
transits over Jupiter at least once in every month... i.e. Moon’s fast movement and frequent
meeting with Jupiter points immediate caring nature of Mother i.e. other who can be more
careful than mother for her Kids?
Next, important is to check the condition of Natal Moon and Natal Jupiter. Any affliction
of these two would affect the Childhood of native.
After, judging the natal condition of Moon and Jupiter.... next is to check the Progression
of Jupiter i.e. when Jupiter will traverse over other Natal Planets. Here, need to
understand the difference between Progression and Transit.
Nadi Sutas: 5
Fundamentals of Nadi Astrology: Progression Jupiter (3)
Difference between Progression and Transit of Jupiter:
Transit is the actual movement of a Planet as seen from the Earth. In Transit, Planets:
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn go retrograde also. Because of Retrogression
periods, these Planets take more time to transit a Sign, in Comparison of the actual time
they take to transit a Sign in Direct Motion. For example, Jupiter in Leo, entered on 8 Aug
2015 and reached at the end of Leo sign on 8 Jan 2016 i.e. just within 5 months. But,
because of Retrogression on 8 Jan 2016, Jupiter started moving back (not real) and will
leave Leo in Aug 2016 i.e. approximate in 1 year. Same like this, other Planets take their
own time. Sun and Moon always move direct, while Rahu & Ketu …. always remain
retrograde.
Note: Planet's Speed is crucial factor as per astrological point of view (not astronomical),
which also need a close attention.
On the other hand, Progression is quite different from actual Transit (or we can say Live
Transit). Under Progression, there are different models of application. As per study of
various Nadi Texts, I first simply consider the Total duration or approximate time taken by
a Planet to traverse whole Zodiac i.e. 12 Sign, like Saturn takes 30 years, Jupiter takes 12
year, Rahu & Ketu take 18 years, Sun takes 1 year and so on.
Jupiter takes 12 years to traverse though 12 Sign, here we consider 1 year per 1 sign.
Further, with in a Sign, which compromise 30 Degrees span .... Jupiter takes 1 month to
traverse 2 Degree 30 minutes. This way, we can calculate the Progression of Jupiter within
Sign for Monthly basis. Further we can sub-divide this Progression up to Minutes or
Seconds. For easy reference, one may incorporate D12 Chart formula.
Starting Point of Jupiter’s Progression will be the exact Degrees at which Natal Jupiter is
located in birth chart. This way, one may use Jupiter's Progression for Each Cycle (of 12
years duration). Same method can also be applied for other Planet's Progression. Saturn,
Rahu & Ketu's Progression need close attention.
Nadi Sutras: 6
Progression: A new Sutra
Check events... Year/Month wise by Progressing each Planet for 1 Degree per year. For
example:
Natal Planets A at 4 degree and B at 19 in same Sign, then Progress Planet "A" for 1
degree per year basis till it reaches Planet "B". Here, 19 - 4 =15 Degree distance between
Planets A and B. So, Planet "A" would take 15 year to reach Planet "B". So, check any
specific Event happened in 15th year? Also, if that event is related to concerned Karkas of
Planets "A" & "B"? Further for minute calculation one may also calculate minutes and
seconds.
Sun governs Father and Progeny. In Parashari methodology, Jupiter is said to be the karka
of Progeny. When we follow KaalPurushaKundli, the 5th house is occupied by Sign: Leo,
which is ruled by Sun and the 9th house is occupied by Sign: Sagittarius, which is ruled by
Jupiter. Sun has only 7th aspect while Jupiter has 3 aspects i.e. 5th, 7th and 9th. Also,
Lagna, 5th house and 9th house are in Trine to each other. What a native gets from his
father i.e. 9th house is supposed to carry forward to his Progeny.
As per Hindu mythology, once is supposed to continue his Family Lineage to get free from
PitruRuna (i.e. Ancestor's debt). This Family Lineage should be continued by means of
Dharma. This term "Dharma" is justified by Jupiter (Devta's Guru). So, the lordship of
the 9th house is attributed to Jupiter by means of Sagittarius Sign. Important point to note
here is: Sagittarius is MoolTrikona Sign of Jupiter. So, the native himself is governed by
Dharma i.e. Jupiter. Jupiter is also said to JeevaKarka (though Mercury and Ketu are also
known as JeevaKarka as per Parashari System).
The Purity of Soul i.e. Sun governed by Jupiter:
*****Sun (Father)>Jupiter (Native)> Sun (Progeny)*****
Any kind of affliction on Sun & Jupiter should be checked carefully to study the prospectus
of Native's life, his Father and Progeny.
Nadi Sutas: 8
Sun v/s Karkatva, Part-2
Sun governs two different Living Entities in a native's life i.e. his Father and Son. It means
native's Father and Progeny should have a same life pattern. But, this is practically not
seen in all case studies. One's father might be short lived while Progeny may have long life.
So, how to understand about these two different roles played by same planet: Sun?
Again, to understand this one need to follow the "Progression Theory". Here, one needs to
Progress the "Sun" for both Father's condition as well Progeny's scope. With the help of
Sun, one check about native's Father and Father related other issues also.
"In case of Father, Progress the Sun: "to and fro", while for Progeny, Progress Sun in
straight direction."
Next, check:
* The 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 12th houses from Sun.
* Planet in conjunction with Sun.
One more secret:
For Parashari method:
* To know about Father: In naive's horoscope..... Consider/Check Sun in D12 Chart.
(Though, this method is already revealed and discussed in our Astrological Researches
Group by me. One may check in File section. This method was proposed for those natives,
who do not have their own horoscope!).
* To know about Progeny: In native's horoscope.... Consider/Check Sun in D7 Chart.
Nadi Sutras: 9
Sun v/s Karkatva, Part-3
Why Doubt and Confusion over validity of astrological rules?
In many horoscopes, beside afflicted Sun, native are seen enjoying all comforts in respect of
their Father and Progeny. This kind of situation results in doubts and confusion over
validity of astrological rules.
Astrological rules/observations quoted in standard classical texts are not wrong statement.
Only issue is: how an astrologer applies a rule. Sun v/s Karkatva (Father and Progeny)....if
Sun is seen afflicted at Primary level, then it’s not always necessary... Karkatva of Sun will
surely get spoiled. Affliction cancellation some conditions can be like:
* Sign exchange between Sun and other Planet.
* Nakshatra Level exchange between: Sun and other Planet.
* The Planet, who is afflicting Sun, might be involved with some other Planet in
Sign/Nakshtra Exchange.
* As per Progression Theory, benefic Planets may be supporting Sun.
* Also, one should remember what we are seeing/ experiencing regarding a case study... i.e.
is all shown facts should true? Many times, truth comes in light on later stages.
Careful attention is required for IVF like case studies.
Nadi Sutras: 10
Sun v/s Karkatva, Part-4
Significations of Sun: Father, Progeny, Govt. related issues and Vastu Dosha:
Sun governs two different Living Entities of native's life i.e. Father and Son and other
subjects like Govt. related issues, Life Force (प्राणशक्ति) etc. In Vastu, Sun governs Sun-
light, East Direction and considered Strong in South direction.
If natal Sun is afflicted, then there will be strong chances for Vastu Dosha related to Sun or
vice-versa. Important point to note down here is:
"There should be balance of different Vastu Elements by all means".
Any imbalance in one element will affect other elements, though some time....there would
be nothing seen in direct vision. Also, whenever we analyse about a Karkatva, it’s not
necessary that concerned Karkatva will be fully damaged. Like, if Sun is afflicted... do not
immediately predict that Father would be short lived. Here, one may have long live Father
with good status. Then, in such conditions with afflicted or bad result:
* Native may not be able to achieve that much success as achieved by his father.
* Native may get failed to maintain the legacy forwarded by his father.
* Native may suffer health issues related to organs governed by Sun or may have weak
constitution of Sun governed body organs.
* Native may face legal issues or trouble because of Govt.
* Chances to harm reputation by enemies.
These conditions should be judged within light of other Planets.
