I. PURPOSE OF PACKAGING
First: [It] identifies the product, describes the features and benefits, and complies with
government rules on specifying its contents, weights, chemical composition and potency.
The best example for this is the packaging of MX3
Natural Supplements wherein this provides brand
identification in which the packaging has specified the
different benefits and nutritional value. Specified also
in the packaging are the contents and weight of the
                                           product.
                                           (MX3 Natural Supplements)
Second: It differentiates the products from its competitors and even from the other offerings.
The packaging of double black wine enables the
customers and the company to differentiate their
own product to the other wine products because
this product contains a very unique designs of the
packaging. Unlike the other products, the
packaging of those may contain different lively
                                               colors.
                                               (Double Black Wine)
Third: It lengthens the lifespan, physically protects and extend the usefulness of the products.
In this third purpose, the best example is the
packaging of this Louis Vuitton wherein this
uses thick board-like box where prolongs and
strengthens the product and help to maintain its
good composition and form and thus, there is
also another wrap to further protect the product
          from any damage.
          (Louis Vuitton)
Fourth: It has become an environmental issue
itself.
In the fourth purpose, water bottles are one
                                                    of
                                                    the
problems facing by our society. This includes the
usage of plastics and to minimize this, the product
Ooho is made to solve an environmental issue for
everyone. In this unique packaging, the water is
enclosed in a biodegradable sac. In this way, the use
of non-biodegradable plastic will be lessened and
that is a big thing now considering the state of the
                                             earth as of this moment.
(Edible Blob- Ooho)
Fifth: The aforementioned purpose of packaging has increased the cost of packaging and
therefore, the price of the product.
This fifth purpose tells us that if the packaging is
of high quality, then the price also increases. One
of which is the packaging of Chanel wherein this
is composed of a thick box and another paper bag
that also contributes to the price of the product
since this is made of something thick. In addition,
since Chanel is a famous and extravagant brand,
the packaging of their products can be kept and be
                                               collected.
                                                     (Chanel)
II. DESCRIBE THE PACKAGING OF YOUR PRODUCT
Packaging refers to the process of putting the product in a package or container. In
addition, it is also how the product is presented. It includes the kind of material used for the
wrapper and label and product information printed on the package. Since we have a lot of
products, we decided that we just need eco-friendly packaging. We decided to use the fourth
purpose in packaging so that we can somehow save the Earth as well as promote and sell our
products: cupcakes, graham balls and coffee jelly. As for the cupcakes, the cupcakes used a box
and a paper covering the base of the product. As for the graham balls, we used a container and
they would use some tissue to freely take the product and for the kopi jelly, we used the tiny cups
of plastic. And if they would buy again, they’ll just re-use their cup. Furthermore, in the
packaging there also includes our brand name, the logo and the place of business.
Furthermore, the brand name that we have chosen for our product is “Ari-Ari Store”
since it comprises a lot of products and to make the stall somehow unique. Plus, the logo is also
included. The logo looks like the image shown below and it contains, the two graham balls as its
feet, the body that looks like kopi jelly and the upper body that means the cupcake and its icing.
The place of business is also included so that the customers will know where the stall is located.
We have a stall in the covered court but, there we also offer room to room service in which we
tend to roam around and promote our products.
To sum this up, packaging is really essential in our product to further promote and to
catch the buyers’ attention and also for other things such as for saving Earth. Without this
packaging, they might go in vain and the small business would also go to waste.
