PREPARATION/ PRIMING The teacher will ask the students to find the pieces of the puzzle scattered around the room and
ACTIVITY each students who will find the pieces, will have to go in front of the class to arrange the puzzle to
form one image or picture.

1. Direction: Match the meaning of the following words that are written inside the speech
bubble of the star with its meaning written in the moon.

Meanings:

 to ask for something in a serious and emotional way

 feeling or showing love or affection

Process Question:

1. Describe the characters.


2. How did the maiden ask to the young man to prove his love for her?
3. Do you think the maiden does not like the young man’s mother? Why?
4. What kind of son is the young man? Read the line in the poem to prove it.
5. What line tells a mother’s great love for her child?

APPLICATION Group Task. The teacher will divide the class into four groups.

Group 1. The Symbolical Masterpiece. On a given paper draw a symbol that best represent the
message of the text. Expound the message of the story during group presentation.

Group 2. The Bloggers. You will make a blog showing the sacrifices of a mother to her children.

ASSESSMENT Direction: arrange the following incident in sequence according to the story told in poem.
1. The maiden wanted the young man to prove his love for her by giving her his mother’s
heart.
2. He heard his mother’s heart worrying over his fall and comforting him
3. It was cloudy and moonless night.
4. The young man went out to see his maiden
5. He went to his mother, opened her breast, and took her heart.
6. He asked his maiden why she has kept him waiting all these years.
7. On the way back to his maiden, he slipped and fell.
