Rationale: Teachers play crucial roles in improving the quality of the teaching-learning process inside the
classroom that truly brings success and achievement of the objectives. The pedagogy, approaches,
materials and activities he used definitely affect the whole process in the development of the desired
competency among the learners.

In connection herewith, as a result of the quarterly assessment in Mathematics majority of the

learners fell under non-numerates and way below the national standards by 27.85% during the first
and second quarter of the current school year.

With these Bukal Sur Elementary School will conduct the 2019 CLASSROOM-BASED
ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM IN BASIC NUMERACY OPERATIONS: RAISNG THE BAR OF
LEARNER’S COMPETENCIES IN THE FOUR FUNDAMENTAL OPERATIONS in order to address
the problems on low numeracy rate among learners which is based on the risk-analysis of the
teacher that is deeply rooted on the non-mastery of the basic skills in the four fundamental
Operations and misconceptions on the applications of fractions.
Objectives Terminal Objective:

At the end of the program, the participants should be able to demonstrate competence in basic
fundamental operations as expected of grade 4 pupils prescribed in the K-12 curriculum for Key
Stage 2 focusing on grade 4 competencies.

Enabling Objectives:

 Master the four fundamental operations by being exposed to varied activities like flash card
drills, games and group activities.
 Metacognize fraction applications through visualizations, comparisons and computations.
 Demonstrate mastery of skills in solving word problems involving fractions, decimals, time,
and measurement of different polygons.
 Create songs, jingle and chants in mastering basic skills and competencies in Mathematics.
