A man went swimming at the beach and was carried out to sea by the tide. Unable to call for help as no one could hear, he started to sink and was dragged under. When he tried to swim back up and breathed in water, he suddenly realized he was breathing and had grown gills. With this impossible development, he was able to explore the deepest depths of the ocean and coral reefs. However, when he returned to land, he found that his gills had disappeared.

The day I did the impossible.

Today I went to the beach and I went swimming in the sea. Then the tide went
out and carried me out to sea. I started to sink! I tried to call for help but I was
too far out, no one could hear me. I was dragged under. I tried to swim back up,
I took a gulp of water thinking it was air, then suddenly, I realised I was
breathing.

I had gills !
I couldn’t believe it, it was impossible. I now knew that I could travel out and
swim in the deepest depths of the ocean and I could see all the amazing wildlife
down at the coral reef. I absolutely loved it. When I got back to land, I was
going to tell everyone I knew. Then when I got to my house, I felt my neck, my
gills had gone…
