Hello, there! I’m going to Africa soon! Let me describe my “African safari”
checklist to you.
My checklist includes five important aspects. The first, and most important
one, is Vaccination and immunization. The Kenyan Government says I can’t
enter the country without proof that I got a vaccine against the yellow fever. I
also need to check that I have all the common vaccines (the ones you
usually get as a child). For that reason, I have to visit the doctor to check my
record and plan a vaccination schedule (in case I need it) at least three
months before my departure.
The second point on my list is the arrival. The hotel is not close to the airport
so I need to arrange a meet-and-greet service. The people from the hotel
can pick me up at The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. I have
to speak with them soon to let them know about my time of arrival and flight
number.
In addition, I need to make sure I have the appropriate clothing for Africa.
Kenya is a tropical country so days are hot and there is a lot of humidity. For
that reason, I need to buy several T-shirts and shorts for the hot weather.
There are quite a lot of mosquitos in Kenya too. I need to get a mosquito net
and an insect repellent to take with me at all times.
The fourth point on my list is money. The official currency in Kenya is the
Kenya Shilling. Although there are several ATMs in the country now, I need
to make sure I have enough cash with me in case I don’t find one. To
exchange money, it is good to have dollars or euros so I need to buy some
before my trip. I can pay for the hotel and buy souvenirs with a credit card so
I have to call my bank to authorize the use of my credits cards in Kenya. An
extra task is to find out about the Shilling: its coin and bill denominations and
to familiarize with them.
Finally, there is one important thing to consider. That is the contact with
animals during the Safari. I cannot interfere with their natural behavior. It can
be very dangerous. Also, I have to consult my guide before getting out of the
vehicles. There are usually lots of wild animals around and it is better to
prevent attacks.
That’s all friends. See you in Africa!
                                                                        Mary

Hello! I'm going to Santa Marta soon! Let me describe my "santa marta"
 checklist.
My checklist includes five important aspects. The first, and the most
important, is vaccination. The travel agency policy says that I can not travel
without proof that I have been vaccinated against yellow fever. For that
reason, I have to visit the doctor to verify my registration and plan a
vaccination schedule (in case you need it).
wa
The second point on my list is arrival. The hotel where I will stay, so I must
guarantee that the tourism agency takes care of that. Script/guion
Also, I have to make sure I have the right clothes for Santa Marta. Santa
Marta is a warm city, so I need to wear comfortable clothes. The tourist
agency is responsible for paying the hotel. Also, I have to consult my guide
before leaving the hotel. In general, we have to be in a group with a tourism
 agency to avoid inconveniences.
That's all folks. See you in Santa Marta!
The eighth point in my list is driving, to be able to move to know the different
places most important of the USA, I need to rent a car but they ask me to
obtain an international license to drive in the streets, so I must 2 months
before I go to my trip to process said license to transit comfortably.
The ninth point is local costumes. According to what I have researched there
are customs that I would love to be part of them casually in my trip will be
holding the festival of orchids and I would like to go and eat some precooked
food is not highly recommended but I have been told that it is delicious.
The tenth point in my list is taking photos, I love the photos so I always carry
with me my camera, an additional memory in case the one with the camera is
full, and enjoy all the places taking a photo of memory of those wonderful
places that I visit.
Finally, there is one important thing to consider. Some things that I can
import and export, in my trip I plan to take some canned foods like sausages,
tuna, beans and sardines, to take them with me in my travel, I can also take
many photos as a souvenir and I do not know, I can forget that so I like
animals I can’t bring back to Colombia any exotic animal, I hope you spend
the months to enjoy all those wonderful places of the USA.
That’s all friends. See you in Miami beach soon!
