Hydraulic Breathers & Filters Guide

This document discusses spin-on breathers and desiccant breathers that help control contamination in hydraulic systems. Spin-on breathers use glass media elements with efficiencies down to 0.3 microns to prevent contaminants from entering systems. Their high capacity pleated elements extend the life of other filters. Desiccant breathers contain chemically inert silica gel that adsorbs water vapor and indicates reaching maximum capacity by changing color. Both product types work with Hy-Pro fluid filters to provide clean fluid and protect system health.

HPBR-102 FOR MOBILE AND HEAVY DUTY APPLICATIONS B

*HPBR-102 assembly is complete with a metal reinforced base, that remains with the
reservoir or gearbox, and a replacement breather cartridge (HPB-302) threaded into
the base. Upon indication remove the cartridge only (HPB-302) and replace with a
new cartridge. The HPBR-102 assembly is recommended for Heavy Duty,
Continuous vibration, Mobile, and Extreme climate applications.
HPBR-102 has a 1” Male NPT connection.

WHEN TO CHANGE THE HY-DRY BREATHER

New Hy-Dry breather silica is gold and as the

silica adsorbs water the color will change to
green and then to a very dark green (near black).
