San Policarpo is a coastal municipality in the province of Eastern


Samar.
San Policarpo is a fifth class municipality in the province of Eastern
Samar, Philippines. In the north-west, it is bounded by Arteche, in the north-east by
the vast Pacific Ocean and in the south by Oras. According to the 2015 census, it
has a population of 14,687 people.
San Policarpo, officially the Municipality of San Policarpo, is a 5th
class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. According to the
2015 census, it has a population of 14,687 people. [3]

In the north-west, it is bounded by Arteche, in the north-east by the


vast Pacific Ocean and in the south by Oras.

The municipality has a land area of 78.00 square kilometers or 30.12


square miles which constitutes 1.67% of Eastern Samar's total area. Its population
as determined by the 2015 Census was 14,687. This represented 3.14% of the total
population of Eastern Samar province, or 0.33% of the overall population of
the Eastern Visayas region. Based on these figures, the population density is
computed at 188 inhabitants per square kilometer or 488 inhabitants per
square mile.

According to the Bureau of Local Government Finance, the annual
regular revenue of San Policarpo for the fiscal year of 2016 was ₱54,580,093.77.

According to the 2015 Census, the age group with the highest
population in San Policarpo is 10 to 14, with 1,863 individuals. Conversely, the age
group with the lowest population is 80 and over, with 176 individuals.
Combining age groups together, those aged 14 and below, consisting
of the the young dependent population which include infants/babies, children and
young adolescents/teenagers, make up an aggregate of 36.78% (5,402). Those
aged 15 up to 64, roughly, the economically active population and actual or potential
members of the work force, constitute a total of 56.23% (8,258). Finally, old
dependent population consisting of the senior citizens, those aged 65 and over, total
6.99% (1,027) in all.

The computed Age Dependency Ratios mean that among the


population of San Policarpo, there are 65 youth dependents to every 100 of the
working age population; there are 12 aged/senior citizens to every 100 of the

The population of San Policarpo grew from 8,051 in 1960 to 14,687


in 2015, an increase of 6,636 people. The latest census figures in 2015 denote a
positive growth rate of 1.14%, or an increase of 851 people, from the previous
population of 13,836 in 2010.

two points over the surface of the Earth), the cities closest to San Policarpo
are Borongan, Catbalogan, Calbayog, Tacloban, Ormoc, and Baybay. The nearest
municipalities are Oras, Dolores, Arteche, Can-avid, Lapinig, and Maslog. Its
