No. 6 “Help Me Out Where I Need Faith!

” (Circuit overseer)

Note to speaker:
In a positive way, help the audience to see the need to examine their faith and work to strengthen it. This
talk includes an interview

EXAMINE THE CONDITION OF YOUR FAITH (3 min.)

We should humbly examine our faith [Read Mark 9:23, 24]
The father of the demon-possessed boy had a measure of faith; that faith moved him to approach Jesus and
his disciples (Mr 9:17, 18)
Yet, he humbly recognized his need for more faith, and he asked for help
Like Jesus’ apostles, be eager to increase your faith (Lu 17:5)
Use God’s Word to evaluate your faith, and then work to increase it (Jas 1:25; w15 9/15 14-16 87-12)
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR FAITH (5 min.)
To grow in faith, we need to grow in Scriptural knowledge and understanding [Read Romans 10:17]
“Faith follows the thing heard”
Take advantage of the many personal study tools available to you
Dig deep into God’s Word, and take time to meditate on what you read
At congregation meetings, we are instructed and encouraged by the faith of others (Ro 1:12;
Heb 10:24, 25)
Prepare well and participate
Preparing for the ministry and speaking to others about the Kingdom hope impresses the truth on our
own heart (1Ti 4:16)
Share in different aspects of the ministry, including informal and public witnessing, making return
visits, and conducting Bible studies
If possible, serve as an auxiliary or a regular pioneer
INTERVIEW (2 min.)
[Interview a regular pioneer whose study habits in the past were inconsistent or superficial. How did better
personal study habits strengthen his faith and lead to an increased share in the ministry? How has sharing
fully in the ministry strengthened his faith?]
PATIENTLY ASSIST THOSE WHO LACK FAITH (3 min.)
How should we react if others display a lack of faith? [Read Matthew 14:30, 31]
Figuratively stretch out your hand, and assist those who lack faith (w09 9/15 7-8 85)
Be understanding and supportive, and invite them to join you in activities that build faith
If we humbly remain aware of our own need for greater faith, we will be patient when others lack faith
WORK IN HARMONY WITH YOUR REQUEST FOR MORE FAITH (1 min.)
Although others may assist us, no one can build our faith for us
When we request God’s help to increase our faith, we must work in harmony with our prayers
Jehovah is happy to bless our humble request for more faith
Review question: How can we increase our faith?
Answer: Mark 9:24; examine the condition of your faith, and ask God for help. Then work in harmony with your
prayers by improving your study habits and meeting attendance and by increasing your share in the ministry
(Speaker does not need to read or comment on every cited text or discuss every subpoint)
