INTRODUCTION
We are pleased to introduce ourselves "MIRAS Trading Est.” (Water Works), as a well-
established National Company based in Riyadh, and having diversified field of activities
specializes in Water & Wastewater Treatment. Our water and wastewater treatment division
represents a group of leading companies, from Europe and U.S.A. (enclosed representation).
We specialize in the field of Design, Engineering, Fabrication, Supply, Installation, Start-up,
Commissioning, Trouble shooting and Maintenance of water, Sewage and industrial
wastewater treatment plants and equipment.

Process & Equipment Description :
Miras Plant consists of the following equipment:
1- Pretreatment filtration system:
The filtration system is provided to purify the water from the suspended
particles in the feed water and it gives an extra advantage of protecting the
Reverse Osmosis membranes.
This system is composed of one filter feed pump which is designed to pump the
required capacity of water and required pressure to feed the RO unit.
Water will pass through sand filter then cartridge filter which is fixed
downstream the sand filter to provide more purification for water.
The silt density index (SDI) will measure less than 3 in this stage, which is a
requirement for the RO unit.
2-Pretreatment:
- Anti-scalent is chemical, which should be dosed by dosing pump prior to the
RO membranes to protect the membranes from carbonate and sulfate scaling.
3-Reverse Osmosis (RO) Unit:
This is the heart of the plant where the dissolved salts are separated from the
feed water to produce the permeate water. A high-pressure pump (St.St 316 )
selected carefully for Brackish water with suitable operating parameters will
pump the water with a specific pressure to the membranes which are
assembled in reinforced fiber glass vessel .
Water will leave the membranes in two streams. The permeate stream will be
collected in the product water tank and the reject stream will be disposed to a
proper drainage system. The ratio of permeate water flow to the feed water
flow is called the recovery of the system.

4-Instrumentation:
R.O Plant is furnished with measuring devices and monitoring meters to allow
the system to operate with more automatic mode, gives the main readings, and
alarms necessary for the operator and for the protection of the plant. The
operator task is to record these data and match with the plant readings
according to the start up data at the time of commissioning and watch the
signals given so that he can do the required action.
This is in addition to his usual routine duty like filling up the chemicals,
backwash the filters and other works as explained in the operation sheet. These
instruments include TDS Meter, flow meters and Pressure gauges to indicate the
malfunctioned parameter like low & high level switches, and others.
5- Post Treatment chemicals:
The permeate water is further treated according to the customer required uses
Chlorine is added by dosing pump for disinfecting.
*The chemical pumps are Germany made and materials are Teflon and Kynar.
The plant contains other features and it is a high quality system designed for the
customer satisfaction.
