Specific purpose:

The technology of yesterday is not the technology of today, and the technology of

tomorrow is not the technology of today. Technology keeps getting better and improved as it

solves more human problems and covering up our limitations. The digital world is not the next

big thing to happen in the world; it is currently the big thing in the world. As a computer

scientist, my career will involve interacting with various individuals and organizations, and using

my skills such as software development, coding, database management to add value to their

undertakings.

In this class, I have gained many useful lessons that will last me a lifetime. The most

important is that confidence is an essential tool when communicating. I have learned to be

confident in what I am saying, so long as I have my facts right and am sure of my potential. This

means practicing and applying my tech skills often to be better and learn from mistakes. As a

computer scientist, my confidence will enable me to approach managers at my place of work

when I have recommendations and solutions to the company`s software or operational problems.

Eye contact is a non-verbal communication tool of great significance. I am a great

programmer and have plans of being a self-employed software developer. This will mean direct

client interactions to set the terms of service and also clear out any formalities required. This

skill will improve my listening to ensure customer satisfaction with service delivery.

Through the class discussions we have held, debates, and random tests. I have learned to

always be prepared for anything. I realized the great need of a reading culture. It makes you

informed and gives you the courage to participate. With this courage comes great confidence.

I am a better person in that I have learned to respect the diversity in our thinking and the

importance of other people`s opinions. This makes each of us unique and special in different

ways. It also breeds knowledge from the integration of new ideas.
